A few weeks ago, Tomas Enge tested positive for a banned substance in a routine drugs test after the FIA GT1 race at Navarra. He has now been suspended for 18 months by the FIA. Enge is appealing the decision, claiming that the positive test was caused by medication that he is taking for a chronic cardiovascular problem. Enge previously lost the 2002 Formula 3000 drivers' championship after testing positive for marijuana and being disqualified from a race that he won.

Interestingly when Enge raced in the IRL he was sponsored by Rockstar energy drink.

I always thought that him losing the F3000 title for marihuana was far too harsh because clearly that was something he took privately and not with the intention of having an advantage, for me he won that F3000 title. Marihuana is no doping. But this is a different matter but we don't know what he was tested for.

And yet he failed no drug tests and wasn't sponsored by them when he did.
