After a search and coming up with nil it has me thinking?
Does anyone have a copy of the actual FIA 1972 Formula2 regulations? I would very much like to read a set.
For that matter I'm sure others would like to read similar but of different years hence this subject tile.
Thanks in advance for those who can assist or would like to contribute

You need the relevant FIA "Yellow Book". The regulations are spread over many sections.
O.K. but where does someone who lives in the back end of the earth locate such a book?

Maybe on e-bay, Abebooks etc or maybe CAMS have a library or can let you have a copy of the relevant parts. Joking apart, try asking your town library if they can obtain a copy from another library.O.K. but where does someone who lives in the back end of the earth locate such a book?
I have a 1975 Yellow Book and as V2 says the regulations are spread over several pages. Some regulations relate to all competition cars, eg a fire bulkhead between engine and driver; some relate directly to Formula 2, eg engine size, minimum weight, dimensions, 5 gears, 2-wheel drive; and some relate to all racing cars, Formulas 1, 2 & 3, eg reverse gear, starter motor, roll bars, other safety requirements. Even in those relatively simple days a complex subject. The most obvious departure from the regulationsis due to later development would be in the bodywork dimensional requirements. Others would be pretty obvious.
The regulations might be reproduced in yearbooks like Autocourse, but as I don't have one I don't know - later ones only include the Formula 1 regulations..

It's a guaranteed cure for insomnia.I have been told it makes the CAMS manual light reading.

I have a copy of the 72 FIA Yearbook. The relevant section appears to be only seven or eight pages so I could scan it and email to you. It is quite small print on green paper so it may be a bit difficult to read!

In fact the F2 regulations are only 21 lines and are in Title X, Article 295.
They define the Validity-1.1.66-31.12.75
The engine -which shall be unsupercharged reciprocating with a capacity no greater than 2000cc
The Unballasted Minimum Weight-4 cylinder 450kg, 6 cylinder 475 kg and over 6 cylinder 500kg
Engine specifications-in essence from a series production car with at least 1000 made, modified to the limits in Group 2 Touring cars but with the possibility of changing the crank and rods.
The Gearbox -maximum five speeds
and finally a requirement that there should be maximum two wheel drive.
Thats it.
Safety is covered in Article 296 along with various definition and dimensions but again only takes up four pages dealing with the likes of Red Lights, Fuel filler caps and so on, plus the wing sizes, which in essence can be no higher than 80cm above the lowest point of the entirely sprung structure of the car and no wider than 150cmin front of the front wheels.
Its all remarkably easy compared with today.
