Scott appears to have been from Oklahoma, originally, although just now I can't say how or why. As for the car's performance, it retired at Sioux City after 28 laps (56 miles) with a split fuel tank, and for unspecified reasons at 260 laps/miles at Des Moines. It does not seem to have arrived at Elgin, as it was not mentioned in practice reports and the driver was still reported missing two days before the race.

The driver is Andy F. Scott, who I believe had been a riding mechanic with the Stutz factory team before - I can't find my notes on the subject in a hurry, so this is from memory. I always believed the car to have been a Stutz special, but I'd never seen a picture before. The general layout of the car appears to conform to the Stutz pattern, i.e. RHD and LHE, and the frame looks "Stutz-ish", too. However, that is not much to go by.
