Is the front wing new? As in not used in Spa?

It doesn't look new to me. It looks the same as the wing used in Spa. A slightly different wing was tested at Spa with a different endplate but the FW raced in Spa looks exactly like the one in today's pictures. I doubt we'd see any new FW or RW today, it'll be tomorrow.

THe top flap on it looks a bit smaller than the Spa version.

I think the perceived difference in size is just down to perspective of the camera relative to the FW. Obviously I could be completely wrong but if you take a look below you can see they look to be the same size.

Or... Fernando is it true that you will be leaving Ferrari like Michael did to save Felipe's seat?

Or... We have a breaking news, Fernando, Hamilton is leaving Mclaren, but not for Mercedes because Schumacher will stay one year but for Ferrari, Di Montezemolo will announce this at the end of the weekend.

Just watching FP1. I've noticed that when the DRS is open, the 'gap' it creates in the rear wing is a lot smaller than other cars. Wouldn't this hurt our DRS performance?

i read on scarbs blog last year that the gap is the same for all the team, that the difference are only visual. I don't know if i have read well

No penalty. It's a practice engine.

Scuderia Ferrari ‏@InsideFerrari

It looks like and engine problem for Fernando, similar to what happened to Felipe in Spa.

Well yes it's done it's race cycle that's why it's a practice engine now, it's no longer being used for races.

Seems already fixed.

Good sign to see BOTH cars close to each other, and high up in the time sheet. If they're on similar programs, it means that the car should be consistent and quick.

If they have to change gearbox, yes. But maybe (hopefully) it's only a hydraulic or electrical problem, which could be solved without gearbox change.

Only if this is the race GB

It's Friday, free practice.
I an baffled so many people do not know elementary rules but very much hope on someone's penalty.

But surely this gearbox will hurt him on other track if it doesn't here?

It's only mandatory to use your race gearbox during the Saturday/Sunday sessions so it's not certain that Alonso will get a penalty

Because Alonso did not finish the last race I think he can change his gearbox without penalty.

I know its only practice, but I always feel that Fridays set up an omen for the rest of the weekend, although a fresh engine and a fresh gear box will be nice.

The gearbox on Fernando's car can be replaced without penalty as this was not a race unit.

As always we should de cautious with FP, but on paper we look good, the good news?, with both cars. Don't forget the chat with Rivola at 18:00PM CET, he will give us some news about Fernandos car, but everything is fine as long as we don't have todays problems tomorrow.

Thanks @RedOne good news :) .I have a feeling that Monza will be a good place to celebrate Alonso's 10th win with Ferrari , and maybe Massa will finally back on podium.
