I'm still getting over Abu Dhabi 2010 and now I'm going to have to watch the nightmare all over again :(

very disappointed with Ferrari's results in this situation. They certainly put in a lot of effort but no results. Everyone else seems to be able to get their upgrades to work. Lotus too have taken a substantial step forward this race with their exhaust upgrade. Earlier in the season RB and Mclaren made tremendous strides. We haven't managed anything significant. If the dang wind tunnel was inaccurate why did it take so long to shut it down . been hearing about the wind tunnel issues since early last year

so disapponited

If Massa without the updates outqualifies Alonso, Ferrari will simply be the laughing stock of the paddock.

It's not his fault. Let's face it, if it wasn't for Adrian Newey, Alonso would be strolling to the title at this stage. Ferrari have tried to get Newey and he won't go. Take him out of the equation and they have done as good a job as anyone else this year. It's just so desperately disappointing to again lose a title in this way, but sacking Domenicali isn't the solution.

The car in terms of pure performance overall has been pretty crap even if you eliminate Redbull.

Don't judge the updates around this track.

The Ferrari just lacks compared to the others at these kind of tracks. Look at Singapore for example. I expect something similar today and have been since the weekend started.

If you expected Ferrari to completely change the way the car works at these type of tracks then you were expecting the impossible.

That said, it is disappointing, because short of a DNF for Vettel, Alonso will surely lose more ground.

The reason we broke the curfew again it's because a member of the team arrived early to the circuit, there was not extra work done to the car, starting the day like this, I guess it was an omen.

Anyway, if both McLaren get first line and the keep it till the end of the race, with some luck we will lose only a "couple" of points with Vettel, I refuse to believe we are slower than Williams, Force India and Renault.

Frankly, the only relevance these updates have is whether of not they help in the WDC. Alonso simply cannot afford to finish several places behind Vettel this weekend. 2007 is not going to happen all over again in the last two races. So if the updates don't work - i.e. at least bring them closer to the front - here they as good as useless.

We were in Singapore and Valencia as well in qualifying. It's the track characteristics.

The Ferrari hasn't been good at these type of circuits all season. So to expect updates to change that is unreasonable.

I was hoping they would help, and they probably are, but you just won't see it because the base package of the car just doesn't work around the track.

Anyway, Alonso will lose points to Vettel again. Nothing Ferrari can do short of changing the track.

It is only Singapore and Abu Dhabi really. The truth of the matter is the updates arrived 2 races to late.

Ferrari will be faster in the race but the problem is overtaking. Hopefully Alonso can slice his way through as he did in Valencia to minimise the damage but it is a tough ask.

The McLaren's are Alonso's only hope but even then I don't see them pulling out a fast enough lap on the options. The Red Bull and the Lotus seem to be the cars that make the options work best.

I m afraid any advantage we would have gained in having the Mac(s) finish the race ahead of the Bulls will be negated by the fact that the Lotuses will finish ahead of us.

The lotus upgrades have given them a significant performance boost

Yeah, there really is no room for bringing updates later than the competition. You need them always, the 2nd step is to make them work.

After the in-season test, Ferrari brought in updates and made them work. Now RBR and even McLaren are doing it.

To extend the WDC decision to Brazil, Ferrari needs results now and it's still possible: three qualis+races to go.

But yeah, Abu Dhabi looks like it's going to be a real test!

Massa used the new diffuser yesterday as well as Fernando so he'll at least be using that update. Also, just because we can't see an update doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

But it's funny people think that now Felipe can & will out Quali Fer.. Yes it's possible but not likely.

I hope we DNF in the 1st corner and put an end to this misery... for everyones good.. Alonso.. the Fans.. For next years horse!

Crap !

It's the beggining of the end. Sad to see another championship slipping away and that your only hope for the weekend is a Vettel's DNF.

I still say P5 is looking most likely, Red Bull improve a lot on the options. Still think it will be a Red Bull pole too.

I have a feeling it's track temperature. @insideferrari wouldn't have tweeted about difficult qualifying if they didn't believe it to be so. If they were sandbagging they could have just kept quiet I'd imagine.

Fernando's Q1 lap was 1 second quicker than he managed in FP3. I think the car was set up for the cooler temps of Quali. Fernando said we would see the strongest Ferrari & strongest Alonso of the year tonight & tomorrow.

For what? No blocking happened.
