Hoping for another good start.

He's on the very dirty side of the grid, so don't get your hopes up too much...

Bad one expected, apparently according to Webber and Hamilton, the dirty side is a joke like driving on a track full of soap.

It smells like podium

That would be a brilliant result, and yeah, maybe that smell is in the air, Webber has the advantage of clean side of the grid, but may be hampered by his own start, at least 4th will hopefully help keep Kimi out of any silly stuff into turn 1.

All in all a slightly better result than i was expecting, and a large portion of the credit for that goes to the driver, good job done today by the Kimster.

I consider Schumacher to be his starting partner considering the comments on the even side of the grid ;)

It's not really dirty as it would have been. They clean that side with machines.

Hamilton tried it in fp3 and I saw his start...it was really awfull, Maldonado on clean side was miles ahead despitate starting from behind.

Button on the other hand said that p2, p4 and so on were the better places... Well Kimi won from p4 in Abu Dhabi, hopefully a podium would be possible tomorrow. That is really the maximum possible when you see how quick the Red Bulls and Hamilton is.

All I know is they cleaned that side of the track after FP1. It certainly can't be that bad like a non-run new track. All the accumulated dirt over the past few days would have been gone yesterday. It may not be as grippy as the racing line, but I don't think it is as bad as people think. Even while looking from the video, you can see it is not as bad Turkey or Hungaroring have looked in the past. Just like turn 1, this dirty side is a bit exaggerated, I think.

If Kimi starts P3 he has another chanche to win a race as Red Bull will not finish with Vettel's car tomorrow.

Webber has, allegedly, missed the weighting check in Q1, which could be a big trouble for him in case he's found 'guilty", since he would be found to not comply with the same article of the technical regulations that caused Vettel and Hamilton disqualification from Qualifying earlier this year.

Actually isn't this thing under Sporting Regulations, under Weighing?

I hope Vettel will finish tomorrow, he deserves it and title after todays and whole seasons performances.
Mika Salo said that at least during the qualifyin, poleside was painted on dirty side of the track....didn't see it myself as I didnt took attention to that but apparently they will change it...if it's so.

Kimi said he expected more difficult qualifying but 5th was good, he wasnt happy that he would start 4th...so lets hope for that possible third after Webber's penalty.

Isn't the article that says cars have to have a minimum weight at any time during the weekend in the technical?
Maybe there is another article in the sporting that talks about the concrete calling of the drivers for the weighting.
Question would be, which one of the articles would be the one to use in that case.

Hmm, I need to check it (and it will take a little bit, or my dinner will get cold :) )

Yes.

26.2 In the event of any breach of these provisions for the weighing of cars the stewards may drop
the driver such number of grid positions as they consider appropriate or exclude him from the
race.

Yes, total brain fade from me. I, somehow, confused the article about the minimum fuel weight with the article about the minimum car+driver weight

Why? I hope Vettel wins and takes the WDC and I say this even with Kimi as my favourite driver.

oh how i hope you are wrong as that would hand Alonso a nice set of points. I'd rather Kimi came last (seeing as that he's already out of contention) than have Alonso take the lead in points. :(

Well if Kimi starts 4th lets hope that Schumi won't get by. That has never been a good thing :D Hamilton said that they'll ask Charlie to clean up the dirty side so the start would be more equal for everyone so we'll see.

haha can drivers request for cleaning? I am tickled by this... why didn't they think to do that for all other races before, or rather, I've not heard of it before until you mentioned it

"I hope we can get away well; we're going to ask Charlie to clean that side of the grid so that the people on that side get an equal start and hopefully I can fight Sebastian down to turn one. But after that it's quite a difficult circuit to follow on because it's so fast so position will be very important."

:D

Don't know if he's joking or something.

Same as last time, not a nice way to move up the grid, if it happens, but it will be gratefully received, I think even with the machines cleaning up the inside its still going to be horrible starting from 4th.

Schumey also has to see the stewards apparently, for blocking Alonso.

Kimi, P4 on the grid for tomorrow’s race; is that about what you expected?

I was actually expecting a more difficult qualifying session today, but the car was the best its felt all weekend so it turned out to be quite good. It’s still difficult to get the tyres working with the way the track is at the moment so I think we can be happy with where we are.

About Räikköen's car being suddenly much better in qualifying: didn't he say yesterday that he didn't want to change the set-up any longer expecting the circuit to go to him? (or something similar). If it was really like that, it was a very smart move from him and the team.

I keep hearing that certain people within the F1 paddock were very angry and displeased with Kimi leaving and returning the way he did, also the fact that Kimi said he didn't watch F1 during his 2 year hiatus.

Who are these people?

Is it that much of an issue?
