I think we have discussed who our favorite drivers are, driving-wise. Let's see who people like/not like based on personality, behavior during and after races, interviews, etc., etc. This seems to be a highly polarized debate and it would be interesting to see how the 2 questions relate. If you have 2nd or 3rd favorites/least favorites, please say so on the message to see if there's a pattern to be found there as well

Since I had only 20 choices per question, 4 drivers had to be excluded. I used the order provided by official team and drivers list.

Couldn't vote as I don't dislike any of the drivers enough to care.

This should be interesting. Hamilton and Raikkonen likely to be the favourites. Hamilton is equally likely to be the least favourite as well though.

I think its obvious the first question will be a complete wash out with Kimi, he seems to have the biggest fan base by a mile.
However, i think the second question could be a whole lot more interesting. My guess would be that Hamilton is the least liked, but i can't be sure.
:)

I should add that i don't think people will answer this poll correctly, people will vote for Kimi because he is their favorite DRIVER, not their favorite PERSONALITY, after all, he really doesn't show his personality to the media, so i doubt many people on this forum know what he is like.

I'm a big Alonso fan these days, which is probably quite surprising because I supported MS throughout the 90s and up to 06. I never used to be a big FA fan, but since he started at Ferrari, I've been incredibly impressed at his skill, racecraft and maturity. He's a real character with lots of personality, he's a true racer and I hope he can win his third title this year. It's long overdue and it's a similar feeling to cheering Schumi on in 2000 after a seemingly endless title-less streak. I'm quite keen on KR too - he doesn't appeal to me as much as Alonso, but I've been blown away by his comeback this year.

For least favourite, I voted Grosjean purely because I feel he's been too erratic in his driving. Maldonado would probably come a close second, because he's a bit of a thug on the track.

The poll is meant to be based on personality, not driving.

This. I got my suspicions here and there but..

Driving wise or not, this poll will get the same result as all the others.

Which makes Kimi leading by a healthy margin even more baffling. He has about as much personality as a giraffe. :p

Voted Webber as my favorite personality. He generally speaks his mind without adding corporate bollocks or being worried about offending people.
He's a funny chap and I admire his mentality, not only in racing but in his life.

Voted Hamilton as my least favorite. Comes off to me as a petulant child. Vettel would be second, for the same reason.

I have two drivers on the track, but only one vote. Gave it to Michael, only to learn later, that Sebastian, my paralell choice has no votes yet. Multiple choices would have been nice.

Not really. I am not a fan of either and I did not include my opinion in the opening message on purpose, so that hopefully it's understood I don't have an agenda.

What are your suggestions for getting a kind of general placement, subtracting the dislikes from the likes?

Not sure any of them have enough personality to demonstrate something one way or another. Webber seems to be the only one willing to say anything that's even the slightest bit controversial.

I bet they've all got Coldplay or Jay Zed or both on their ipods.

Well, we can get a glimpse of their personalities I guess during interviews at press conferences, reactions after race wins, radio comm., when things go well, when they don't, among others. No need to know them personally or have a reality show based on their lives to give a ballpark estimate of whether you like or not like a driver I guess.

Even if this thread is not meant to consider the drivers from a driving-wise point of view, I think that the best drivers are the ones that more votes will get in both "favorite" and "least favorite" fields. The best drivers as they get success they get fans but also people who dislike them... I think it may be kind of obvious, but it made me happy to point it out.

My favorite ones are Alonso and Kobayashi, also PDLR. Alonso because he is usually like calm and cold but also displays a lot of temperament on certain ocasions, which is something I find cute.
Kobayashi seems like a nice guy, same for Pedro.

Regarding "least favorite", I guess Vettel and recently Button. About Vettel is that I hate his finger (nice that he's not showing it oftenly anymore) and Button because certain remarks he said about Ferrari.

All the other drivers... I kind of like Hamilton, also Petrov and Kimi but I really don't have a strong opinion about them as a person.

Honestly, I don't know any driver at all really....

KR seems to be doing well in the like part. Apparently keeping your mouth shut helps here. Maybe also a relatively successful comeback.
Recent success maybe working in favor of Alonso, but last years' dominance against Vettel. MS probably has improved his likes after his relatively poor recent performance and more relaxed attitude.

Can't say anything about Vergne dislikes; Senna's maybe due to performance and pay driver.

Favorite Kimi, least favorite Michael.

I dont undertand the personalty not driving mention, because I judge their personality first trough their driving, and if we are voting the favorite drivers we are not looking who is the most complete driver anyway, eventhough many seem tho choose their rooting based on that.

Yeah, and Kimi looked really angry then. Some forumer even said that Alonso complaining made him puke, but I'm sure it wasn't the same when Kimi did the same thing.

I must say anyway that I dont dislike when drivers do that, they all make me smile when this happen. They are like humans and all. I miss Montoya's rants in particular, those were really eeeeeepic.

I'm extremely proud of being the least mainstream man in this board.

Vettel is my favourite. Huge talent, and while little erratic, he still has a humble personality. Both WDCs were largely deserved, and all the hate he gets is just simply envy from other fans. Close second is Hamilton. A real racey driver, and has a charismatic personality. Both Vettel and Hamilton are big kids, and I always liked people who have good intentions behind their erratic and outspoken personality.

Michael Schumacher gets a special credit. The guy is the 40+ and still has the pace of a young talent, and doing well despite all the bad luck. Determined for the sport, and still a legend.

Raikkonen is the one I hate the most. Undeserved hype and love, not determined for the sport, never cared about anyone else but him, and quite franky vastly overrated as a driver. Button is a close second. Once I actually enjoyed his driving, but his mean spirited politics in the McLaren and his alibi driving made him a very detestable man.

I claim the sole right to start this kind of poll and recommend the mods to ban anyone who even tries to do this before this year is over. We've done our poll. Kimi is the post popular driver and McLaren is the most popular team. Alonso/Hamilton and Ferrari are really close.

What's the point in doing this every single month?

If anything, it's interesting to see how things may have changed. So far, from my last count, Kimi is the most popular net, followed by LH and Button. Vettel is the least favorite, followed by Maldonado and Alonso.

It may also serve the purpose to see how the liking/disliking of a driver's personality compares to the liking of the same person as a driver only.

If none of this is of interest to you, feel free not to see the thread or post in it.

I dislike 90% of current pilots personality-wise because they all repeat the same cookie-cutter corporate PR bullsh*t over and over again.

Voted Kimi, plain honest guy who cuts to the point. He just feels awkward and boring because he gives zero ****s about others, and that's hard to blabber about.

I can't vote because I don't know any of them personally, and frankly, I consider unfair to the drivers my "least favourite driver vote" under this circumstances. In fact, I'm sure I wouldn´t be fair because I have a favourite team and sometimes I'm not happy with what other teams/drivers (and their supporters) are doing/saying, so my opinion would be completely biased in this case. Summarizing, I can judge their personalities in the F1 context, analysing what I see (not what others say, including biased journalists of any nacionality), the way they drive, the way they react under pressure, even the way they move...and that´s all. I can´t judge them as human beings, in their ordinary life, from my biased point of view.

On the other hand, It´s a logic thing that the most hated drivers are those who most people consider the best. We usually hate what we fear.

Voted Webber as my favorite personality. He generally speaks his mind without adding corporate bollocks or being worried about offending people.
He's a funny chap and I admire his mentality, not only in racing but in his life.

My girlfriend likes Webber for his "rugged good looks". I told her she's too old for him, and got a punch in the shoulder.

So the forum is biased towards Lewis and against Alonso. Never would have guessed.

Kimi is just doing the old Kubica "I'm over-driving a car not from the big 2 (now big 3) teams" routine, which makes all drivers popular. Amazed Schumacher's fan following hasn't shown itself, or his cult of hatred.
