I have a friend on another forum that needs help identifying a steering wheel.
Does anyone here know who made it?

That looks like a popular style from the mid to late sixties...

Would that be the approximate dating?

Yeah, possibly British 1960's by the thickness & diameter of the rim but has the 1950's flatness(no dish).I don't recall ever seeing it but the MA(?) Racing Car logo is a giveaway to someone surely.Sorry ,not much help but it would be interesting to see what its off as that period/style of Wheel can go for big $ on Ebay.

If everyone gets a guess, my guess would be that the logo is a stylized "ML" for Moto-Lita. A further guess would be that "516/F/S" means 5-hole, 16" diameter, flat spokes.

Looks like an original E-Type wheel to me, doesn't it?

Doesn't look like a Moto-Lita logo, looks more like MA than ML, and there also appear to be 2 holes per spoke too many, and didn't E Type wheels have rivets all round?

The owner has no idea of the vintage, the era or even what it was fitted to.

Mick, the patchwork quilt isn't mine but I can make him an offer if you would like it.

Sorry I can't tell you what it is but comparing with the photo's on this e-bay page the logo on the wheel we are trying to identify does not look like a Moto-Lita.

I don't recognize the engraving but the wheel looks like it was made by Walsall Wheels... they also made many of the early Les Leston wheels. I don't think it's a Moto Lita. See here:

Well done,i remember MCA accessories,i was given a large box of them when our local BMC dealer closed but that Logo just didn't ring any bells.
