Although, is it still meant to be alternating with Barcelona from next year? I've kinda lost track of Bernie's dealings this year. I'd be surprised if we actually go to Korea next year, frankly no one cares about that half constructed building site in the middle of nowhere. I think we're going to be looking at 19 races again

Whatever happened to that Argentine Grand Prix that was supposedly on the brink of being confirmed back in May?
It was just that months new grand prix rumour. The French Grand Prix was far more likely, but that hasn't materialised yet either.

As I understand the province of Valencia has no more money to spend on international sporting events and the stadiums and other infrastructure needed for hosting such events. And given the present unemployment rate in Spain, I'd be very surprised if any regional politician suggest spending more billions on bolstering the Swiss bank accounts of the F1 drivers when local citizens are left homeless in the wake of the financial crisis ;)No Valencia, it warms my heart

Perhaps they should ask themselves why they didn't build it somewhere more accessible? As for what it should be used for, maybe they could develop a proper domestic racing scene? F1 should be the icing on the cake, not the sole reason for the track's existence. And as wj-gibson said, it is Korea that is trying to get out of its contract.if you put ur self in koreans shoes , you just but hundreds of millions in a track in the middle of nowhere built especially for F1 races only , only to be kicked out of the calender after 3 years ! , what are they supposed to do with the track now ? same goes for turkey although it retained the race a bit longer. and they are very nice tracks with high downforce corners that test modern f1 cars

Haha!
I never thought of that one! Nearly a whole month of petrolhead decadence.

I will miss Valencia. Barcelona is nothing special. I also don't like having 2 GP's in the same country (US).
Well having both Barca and Valencia is much much worse than having two GP's in a country the size of Europe

SO, will Singapore GP will be gone before Korean GP? Hosting a night GP pretty expensive.

WHAT. No Valencia? But that was the best race of 2012
But the worst race of 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011

I tell you what, if Singapore can't make a night GP work $$$ wise then Bernie can fark right off trying to force Melbourne to...

I would agree, but with Alonso in the sport lack of decent alternatives in Spain and comparison to Valencia it suffices.

They have Motorland Aragon.
At least for MotoGP it's a very good circuit.

I think in Bernie's mind the fact it is 170miles from a major city kills it.
Pity though because it is a great track.

A little bit disappointed that there's no Istanbul...
Why would you expect it to be?
I've argued several times that the Hungary Grand Prix has been more exciting over the past 20-odd years than the Spanish race. Barcelona is often boring as... well, you'll think of something.;)
It most certainly has been. But in turn Barcelona has been consistently better than Valencia.

From the rumours I've read, the Korean GP is still on the grid as Hyundai may join the F1 circus in the future. There were rumours of them joining in 2010 (incidentally the first Korean GP) but the global economic crisis and engine freeze would scare off any manufacturer. I think the Korean GP is still there so that it makes it look like F1 isn't giving up on South Korea and hope that Hyundai join. Though I doubt they will.if you put ur self in koreans shoes , you just but hundreds of millions in a track in the middle of nowhere built especially for F1 races only , only to be kicked out of the calender after 3 years ! , what are they supposed to do with the track now ? same goes for turkey although it retained the race a bit longer. and they are very nice tracks with high downforce corners that test modern f1 cars

Regarding the 2013 MotoGP calendar:
There's already an official twitter handle for the Argentina GP, they claim they have secured the 14 april 2013 date.

No. No it hasn't been.
It has. It may not have been great, but other than this year, Valencia has been mind numbingly dull every single year. Oh, except the 2010 when Webber flipped, but even then it wasn't exactly an interesting race. I think pretty much everyone in F1 knows and agrees that other than this year, Valencia has been terrible. At least Barcelona has had some half decent races, which is more than can be said for Valencia, which has had 1 good race and 5 absolutely terrible races. Barcelona may not be a thriller, but it's given us more half decent races than Valencia ever has and likely ever will.

Everything is there except for France, I don't know what people's problem is. Ok so we've lost minor GP's like 'European', 'Luxembourg' and 'San Marino', but that's hardly the end of the world.Only 7 European rounds.
Worrying.

#F1 Still awaiting the 2013 schedule from the FIA World Council. Probably won't be a good outcome for New Jersey
3:11 PM - 28 Sep 12
Which probably will mean that Mexico is in given the Perez news today, or we get Valencia back.

Why'd you book your holidays before the calendar was officialarised! No, they've changed Spa. I've booked my holidays from work and I can't change them. Looks like I won't be able to go next year.
You know what the FIA are like, they'll make minor changes to anything provisional just because they can. I'm intrigued as to the reasonings behind all this, though. Such as switching Japan with Korea.
Edit: Grand Prix of Jersey sounds much better than Grand Prix of the Americas or whatever the hell it's called. But ideally it would be United States Grand Prix East and United States Grand Prix South
