The Trucks and N'wide race at Kentucky tonight and tomorrow, the Cup guys race at New Hampshire Sunday

Finally a race that doesn't involve an all-nighter for our Euro Brethren.

Tune in sched: http://www.nascar.com/races/tune_in/

Jayski: http://www.jayski.co...ASCAR-Race-Info

Random nugget of information: Crew chief Chris "Shine" Heroy and the #42 Energizer Chevy team will race with Chassis #1110 at New Hampshire. This chassis was used during several tests, but will make its race debut this weekend in Loudon.

It's a pretty good paintjob. Black, with the Energizer battery stripe thingy down the side.

He just had an amazeballs dirt track moment around the rim of turn 4. Didn't hit anything.

Trucks tonight!

Two to look out for: Dakota Armstrong has been offered a shot in Turner's fourth truck #4, and this years Daytona winner John King makes his return to the series in the Wauters #5 entry.

JWT runs the risk of promoting Zaxbys' rival when he inevitably hits the wall, resulting in a KFC Fresh Start for the rest of the field.

Does quali ever mean something in NASCAR? Or is the fact that Blaney got 10th just... luck?

Nah, it never usually means squat.
Sometimes it's just down to the cloud that comes over the racetrack at a certain time, or how well they were positioned in first practice (rubber lay-in).
Nowhere near as important as F1 for example.

But I post it anyway. Offsets the usual drivel I spew on these threads. :p

Where do the 12 Chase drivers start at New Hampshire
?
[by current points standings]
1) #2-Brad Keselowski, starts 15th
2) #48-Jimmie Johnson, 20th
3) #14-Tony Stewart, 3rd
4) #11-Denny Hamlin, 32nd
5) #5-Kasey Kahne, 6th
6) #15-Clint Bowyer, 12th
7) #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr., 14th
8) #16-Greg Biffle, 13th
9) #56-Martin Truex Jr., 9th
10) #29-Kevin Harvick, 16th
11) #17-Matt Kenseth, 25th
12) #24-Jeff Gordon, 1st..on the pole

He shaved the 'stache? I'm rooting for him to fail miserably, then.

One thing that matters is the teams select their own pit stalls. The better you qualify, the earlier you choose. So you get to choose pit stalls with the least liklihood of having other cars interfere--so the last pit stall on pit road is the most popular cos you just nail it coming out without fear of speeding. Also, the pit stalls just before or after the openings in pit wall for garage access are popular.

This can be, and has been, the difference between winning and losing a race so it's not trivial.

^this is true.

Shame for Dakota Armstrong, nice for Turner to come down and say he'll get another chance.

Notice they no longer play those "You think #13 is an unlucky number?" Johnny Sauter ads...

I came in just as the Bodine caution came out--lap 21 I think. So Piquet is 4th? How's he been running?

I could hardly fathom trying to get 12 cars worthy of a playoff system in NNS this year.

Good job to Buescher, Kligerman (remember that spin and the trip down pit road), and Dillon.

Not Buescher is Piquet's teammmate.

I want to know more about this supposed contact with Piquet coming across the S/F line.

What's up with JWT having a couple of pretty good race?

Kligerman definitely has speed; he'll get his win(s) sometime this year. If he is still with Penske like he says, why isn't he splitting time with Blaney while Brad concentrates on the Chase in the 22?

We're talking sub 50 degrees at night, 60 (at the very best) during the day.

Kurt something like 28 spots up in 22 laps!

Nah Lindt is available in most mainstream US supermarkets so it's more like NASCAR. You'd have to look to something like Sharffen Berger for the F1 level.

What's up with all the cautions? Also, remember when E-Sad said it would come down to who makes the fewest mistakes? That was totally a mistake by Stenhouse--shoulda let the 14 in. Was impatient and thought he had right of way.
