Think the hit in quali yesterday did some damage to the gearbox of Hamilton.

Seems there was a problem with the car........its harsh...but its racing.....Skysports say it was a gear box issue...might have been related to his tap with the wall yesterday.....

I hope Button wins......pls let Button win

Now the only thing we need is Alonso out of the race and the race is saved.

Alonso's smelling a podium, he started to put pressure on Maldonado. Pastor's got to change strategy to make the brakes survive on that pace.

You sure? He's less than a second behind Schumacher, always takes a few tenths away from Schumi in S1, which means he is about half a second behind Schumi in S2. F1 cars can't drive so close.

Yes he is shit there, after the box he had 3 seconds gap to Schumi and still was shit there. Grosjean is also as close to Rosberg and can easily do 44.7.

The stars are aligned for Alonso this year and there is nothing you can do about it ;) This is his year, plain and simple! :(

Big mistake from McLaren, if they suspected a problem they should have changed it and taken a 5 place drop.

To finish first, first you have to finish.

Nah he still has a pretty good chance this year I think. He'll probably be on to win all remaining races on this form. It's vettel that might be the problem though

He must feel so dejected, Mercedes next season?

Clearly Mercedes has worse pace and worse reliability than Macca. He should move to that team for those reasons alone.

A championship defined by reliability

A championship defined by McLaren not capitalising on their superior car in my opinion. Poor strategy in the first part of the year, poor reliability in the last part. Alonso and Ferrari only threw points away in Canada by contrast.

Reliability is as important as any other thing in F1, people don't get it, sad.

Oh come on, if Alonso got a DNF for a gearbox problem there would be all the cry for bad luck and poor Alonso. :D

Half hoping Hamilton goes Mercedes just so i can see Mclaren crumble.

He has done everything right this year and when Mclaren arent ruining races with pitstop blunders and underfuelling theyre unreliable.

Dont deserve to win anything.

and funny enough, now that he let Schumi go a little bit, he improved a lot that sector, up to the point where Webber was 4 tenths slower and Grosjean 3 tenths slower than him. If Räikkönen's driving is embarrassing in S2 what is it the others?
Plus the guy is usually the fastest driver in S1, what do we do about that?

There is a large element of luck in reliability, as two components from a seemingly identical batch will fail at different times.

Not really comfortable with Button under 3 from Seb.

If package includes driver, reliability and strategy then I agree as McLaren have fallen short heavily in the latter two categories.

What are you all talking about Alonso's luck. He got taken out on the first corner in Spa and had car problems in Qualifying at Monza costing him a much better position.
