Schumacher drove a great Q lap.

Overtaking in Austin will be very, very difficult and combined with Schumacher's unparalleled defending skills - i'm hoping for a good race result.

Webber is also on the clean side(3rd), ahead of Michael. If he start slow Michael will have to jump him. Kimi is 4th. I really hope for points. Podium will be like victory.

You're right Webber is 3rd, don't know why I thought he was 4th! Think I was getting confused with talk of Schumacher jumping Webber.

A podium would be fantastic.

Seems long-runs they're on par with Ferrari & Lotus. The only thing that will screw this up is a first corner shitstorm or shitty incompetence on Mercedes' behalf. I think if he gets past Raikkonen and Webber in the first lap, a podium is a real prospect.

I'd like a final podium in Brazil. He's owed one from 2006.

Beast of a drive, it's Interlagos '06 and Suzuka '98 which are the two drives I love most.

For a podium in Interlagos, first we must start praying for some rain there...

Tyres overheating, Nico configuration with much better pace.

Cant compare Schumi and Rosberg. Schumi is braking late, heavy braking etc try to pass and keep people behind. Any direct comparisons are probably worthless.

Only thing for sure is.. the Merc still can't keep qualifying pace into the race..

The pace was missing from half way through the first lap already. This is going to be a long afternoon. If this was MED vs MED tyres, I don't want to know what HARD vs HARD is going to be.

They already have, that's what I heard on Dutch telly. Live Timing is broken, as usual.

Michael - It will soon be all over; pretend this was all just a nightmare where you were forced to race a GP2 car in an F1 race.

Looks like it could be quite wet in 7 days, they should have no issues to bring the inters\wets up to temperature with their super exhaust.

What a nightmare. How the heck did Michael drive out that 6th (5th) place yesterday?

I don't think I can recall a car being so out of its depth in race trim after qualifying so high in normal circumstances.

I think I understand. That upgrade gets the tyres up to their optimum temp in no-time (like: better, compared to Rosberg) but burns straight through them over a race distance. That would be my guess.

Haha we said a podium would be nice. Someone even mentioned 7-8th would be nice. Well, that was NOT nice.

Rear tyres wrecked according to Sky. Same old story.

The weird thing is that at no point did it look like the car actually had any pace. At least at the start of the season, even with much inferior race to qualifying pace, you could see the speed was there at certain times.

Michael with fresh primes hardly caught up to Di Resta and Nico didn't get any advantage out of the fresh options. Maybe it comes down to the track particulars as well, but it just looks really crappy overall.

I for one.. am embarassed for Mercedes and all their customers. What a pathetic display the last 3 years have been with the exception of 2-3 races.

No idea how the board of directors puts up with this crap. 1st Losing Michael announcement then 2nd a disasterous 2nd 1/2 of the year. Where is Niki Lauda.. come on body speak up. What have you done to fix horrible team performance and decision making at the track.

BOOOOOOO.

To be honest, where is the fun for Michael here? I think he really regretted coming back with Mercedes. Oh my god what a strange choice of teams for a driver like Hamilton.

There's never a quickfix in F1, not on such short notice. Be professional and don't blame Niki Lauda please.

I had some hope in the beginning, but the tires were just being chewed up and the pace is really slow. Schu did one heck of a job in Q3 to put it there.

Bringing in Hamilton is probably the only thing that kept that Board from pulling the plug on the team. So...

What he can do now? He has contract and he need to finish the season. Of course there isn't any fun involved. He probably regret. In rear occasions(when car was any good) he show that speed is still there. He can still drive in F1 , but not with that car.
