Why? He is getting better and it is easier than paying more money for Raikkonen and Schumacher. Hulkenberg and Di Resta seem like longer term investments, so no. That's why I think Perez didn't get a drive with Ferrari.

My guts say Hülkenberg.

Unrealistic, as he has already signed a racing seat a few days/weeks ago.

I actually hope Michael Schumacher goest to Ferrari. Pack of all time evil team would be complete: Two F1's history's most dirtiest drivers ever in F1's history's dirtiest team ever.
I think a FA/MS association at Ferrari could easily be called "Team of the Millenium"

Ditto. What di Montezemolo really meant when he made the absurd claim that Perez isn't ready for Ferrari is that Perez wasn't ready to sacrifice himself and play the second fiddle to Alonso like Ferrari demanded.Massa will get another year, not because of his performance but because Ferrari want a seat filler for 2013. No one else is going to sign up for just one season of playing lapdog. It would be an absolute career killer.

Ferrari are silly. They are sacrificing their own chances at CC just to make ALonso physchologically happy.

Any true F1 fan will agree with you but marketing-wise it makes sense for Ferrari to make Alonso look as good as possible. And there's no really any other way since Alonso has admitted that he has a say on who's his teammate is going to be meaning it's in his contract. If Alonso wants Massa, Ferrari will give him Massa.

Massa has scored 40 points
Fernando - 83
Button - 69
Lewis - 54
Sebastien 80
Webber - 41
Kimi - 76
Tbh, i dont see why people say Felipe has been performing **** O.o ?
As **** as Webber ?? How is it that bad ?
Mclaren drivers have had reliability issues ( and grosjean for hami )
I think He has an acceptable No.2 to Alonso performance the second half of this season.
And if Vettel rumors are true, then he is a perfect choice for 2013.
If Ferrari actually produce a good, fast yet balanced car, then He will do even better.

Oh come on, you must be joking right? At least Massa doesn't crash into other cars because of low responsiveness. Schumachers days are over, he's too old which is proven by his lack of attention when cars in front of him make sudden movements.Would love to see Schumacher back at Ferrari. Im pretty sure he wouldnt be any less then Massa and he would be a good teamplayer and an inspiration for the team again. If only dreams would come true...

It´s a kind of "read between the lines" theories. ( I know it´s wierd to think Alo only follow Hulk because they going to be team mates 2013,
but I´m 99% sure that´s the case.) I also think Nico Hulkenberg is the only one as agree on a 1 year deal.

Kovalainen would have been the only one to accept that deal, but even him does not want to waste a year driving for Alonso. Then you have Schumacher, would he go back to Ferrari to drive for Alonso? I think not
Now, if Alonso does not win the DC, they will be extremely frustrated and they will, somehow, blame Massa for it, and then I could see Massa leaving the team. As for now, most likely, Massa will stay.

Its funny only so few people reach this conclusion. Only every few years a talent pops up who can out-perform the car he drives. Pairing him with FA could easily break his spirit, and his F1 career with it. LdM was stating the obvious. As to the OP, from the list the most probable candidates are NH and PdR. Bianchi is too young, MS obviously not, I am relatively sure KR will stay on another year at Lotus, his contract is binding AFAIK, and I think they are a little tired of Massa, they have given him every possible opprtunity they could. From those two which one will be FA's teammate, I don't have a clue. Personally, I would give NH a run for his money.

Well, Mallaya say it will be no change in FI for 2013, but I think it will. Even if FI offers Hulk to continue 1 years with them, I think Hulk is more interested in Ferrari.
The "Rheinische Post" wrote that the Force India driver (Hulk) had traveled in the five-week summer break to Maranello in order to sign a letter of intent.

Nobody says he has to take a one-year contract.
I think and I hope the Vettel stories are pure BS. If a guy like Hülk convinces them he's an excellent driver scoring 75% of Alonso's points, then why not extend him?

I would have agreed with you if you had written "any good reason", but "any realistic reason" just doesn't make any sense.
If he's good, cheap and Alonso's happy with him, that's not realistic enough for you?
Plus: Pérez might extend with McLaren, or they might even be angry at him and his management for joining Macca, who knows.
Now that's realistic.

While it's impossible to compare Perez and Hulk, Perez did perform and deliver, and he's nothing but a driver invested by Ferrari. Hulk is not as impressive, and comprehensively beaten by Rubens in a team he was groomed and loved. Seriously, if Hulk was Japanese, people would say "oh another japanese who struggled in F1","well, doing great in junior category doesnt mean he thrives in F1, shame but that's F1", and he wouldve been forgotten looooong long time ago. To some degree the same can be said to di Resta who at best was as impressive as Sutil who was well beaten by Fisi. Why?
Nothing can be funnier than "not ready for Ferrari", as Massa wasnt really ready at all when he joined Ferrari. Massa, too, wouldve been dumped as long time ago as in the middle of 2010 if he were Japanese or any driver without certain ties to Ferrari.

Few posts above yours the 'not ready for Ferrari' LdM statement was adequately explained, IMHO. As to Massa, you are completely wrong. Back then, testing was king, and Massa was perfectly groomed for that Ferrari seat. First, he tested several thousand Kms for Ferrari, then he was on lease from ferrari at sauber, simultaneously testing for Ferrari, He left Sauber when Ferrari considered him to be ready. He was and is a very good development driver, with perfect understanding and knowledge of the team and the car when he was signed. Simply put, Perez is too talented, too eager, and too ambitious, and too Latin to pair up with Alonso. NH, or PdR is a way better option atm.

Doesn't matter if they are angry with Perez now or not, they had already rejected him as being too inexperienced before he signed. Hulk is no more experienced, so if Ferrari's words are to be taken at face value then I cannot see a realistic chance of him going there for 2013.

If Massa was perfectly groomed and ready back then, then Perez is multiple times more perfectly ready than Massa.
Sure, test driver back then could get hugely more in-car mileage than current test drivers can, but still the role wasnt any more significant than currently is. That some drivers got regular seat through testing role route while some didnt hasnt really changed much.
Massa sure had potential and is indeed a good driver, but he was picked up by Ferrari coz son of then-team boss was his manager, and still remains in the team coz they have some business relationship with Massa family. He was and is a very good development driver, with perfect understanding and knowledge of the team and the car when he was signed.
If that's what Ferrari want, that's it then, up to them.Simply put, Perez is too talented, too eager, and too ambitious, and too Latin to pair up with Alonso. NH, or PdR is a way better option atm.
But if the several rumors that they want Vettel or wouldve picked Kubica already had he not injured, or even Hamilton, and have no hesitation to pair one of them alongside Alonso, are true or have some ground, then that they refuse Perez because he's too talented, eager and amitious doesnt make sense anymore. What's wrong if Perez match up well against Alonso in the first place?
