I don't think he has a choice. He's part of their driver program after all. And Caterham isn't that bad, they were good enough for several podiums last year and would've ended up in the Top 3 if their second driver would've brought as many points as Van der Garde.

Trident say they have news to release today, which will possibly be a driver announcement. If it were a driver announcement, then at the moment it looks like being either Julian Leal or Sergio Canamasas.

EDIT: The announcement's been made, but it's Emanuele Zonzini in GP3, not a GP2 driver.

Ocean Racing Technology's website is down. So it's either just down, or they've been sold.

And Rene Binder is talking to Venezuela GP Lazarus (Russian link). But Lazarus said they are going to have an all Venezuelan line-up for this season, so he wouldn't fit in with that, unless he's got a Venezuelan grandmother he's not telling anyone about.

Apparently Daniel Juncadella has signed with Mercedes for DTM, but he's not announced anything yet.

Apparently Ocean Racing Technology will be renamed Hilmer. Which is nice, there aren't enough teams named after owners.

For a split second i thought you said Himler! Not the best person to name a team after, even if his name has an extra m.

Indeed, I did some whois lookups to see if I could find a registered domain, had to catch myself a few times! Presumably most of the engineering side of the team will be done by Mark Preston (anyone else remember him?) who runs Preston Racing (who were looking at an F1 entry way back in 2005), and is also an employee at Formtech (and in charge of the UK side of the business). It's a shame they didn't name the team Preston Racing, as the team has a rather snazzy purple and white livery!

And with that announcement, 2012's top 5 have completed driver line-ups for 2013. And who will race at Trident, if Leal is not there? Giovanni Venturini could make the step up, or Fabio Onidi is still unsigned.

Also, Carlin will give a sneak peak of their livery later - will be interesting to see if the Marussia influence is still there. I think they're going back to blue.

EDIT: Okay, Hilmer Motorsport is an official entrant now: http://www.gp2series...2-Series-field/

I can imagine that Trident could also be sold (only GP2 squad), because "Motorsport aktuell" wrote about more teams on sale in GP2, not only Ocean.

I don't think they will be sold, Trident is a reasonably substantial team with a decent amount of sponsorship and other income revenues. Lazarus would be the one I would worry for, without the Venezuelan money I don't see them managing to sustain a GP2 team alone.

Just flicking through this week's Autosport digital and amusingly it contains quotes from Tiago Monteiro saying that the post-season testing farce was only because the drivers they were meant to test didn't pay up and that Ocean would still be on the grid in 2013. To quote: "I can assure you Ocean is still a safe and sound company and it will go on"

Mostly because teams in GP2, FR3.5, GP3 and whatever lists you make as such involve series and teams that really like to recycle drivers from other teams in the mentioned series. Throwing a name at a particular team isn't hard for anyone to guess because teams in these formula as not very willing to try new talent.

Would it be possible just to put the list in the OP (since you have the OP) and update it in the OP when there are more drivers announced?

I think so, he hasn't really done anything in German F3. Was consistently outperformed by rookie Lucas Auer in the same team last year; in what was his 3rd season.

He was but then Lucas looks like a very talented kid. Not to mention he has some serious connections, he's Gerhard Berger's nephew! I'm counting down the days until he gets signed by the RB driver programme...

Addax Team are going to be announcing their second driver this week. On twitter they've suggested it's going to be one of Clos, Rozenzweig, Hobbs, Král and Piñeiro. Rosenzweig and Hobbs are the only ones I believe are seriously under consideration. If they're seriously challenging for the title, then they should pick Hobbs, but budgets might mean it will be Rosenzweig.

Quick question... Is ART's Lotus sponsorship confirmed for next year?

Judging by this photo and a source of mine their cars are white and red for next year. Same as their GT team.

I'd heard they were going back to red and white too (which will be nice, I was disappointed when the team was renamed last season). But in all their press releases so far they've been referring to the team as "Lotus GP". I think the Lotus sponsorship is secure though.

Sweet, preferred their old livery to the black/gold Lotus get up. Trivial matter i know, hopefully they aren't short on sponsors now Lotus appear to have dropped out.
