So, who's staying up then?

Got the day off work tomorrow (coincidental) so realised I can stay up to watch FP1...

Going to watch some movies, then give FP1 a try...

After all I can sleep in tomorrow!

Will do!
Gotta get some sleep in before, have to go to school tomorrow ;)
Seems like it will be dry according to F1.com! So we hopefully get some proper running :)

Does this forum have a live chat for FPs, Qualys and Race?

Everyone tends to do that through the medium of the message boards - there is a live text commentary as well, but I guess if you are watching you won't need that!

I took the day off, its not often us Aussies can watch FP's during the day! and what a day it is here on the Gold Coast.

Hoping no typhoon activity over the weekend, and a dominant McLaren outing :) WIth Vettel and Alonso taking eachother out....hahaha

Normally I would but my interest in the sport suddenly took a nose dive, so no.

a certain announcement today cheesed me off somewhat. (is a polite way of putting it that wouldn't get me in trouble with the mods)

;)

am travelling in sweden at the moment and just woke up around 1230am after falling asleep early. Couldn't sleep anymore so logged on to autosport to realise FP1 in a few hours. Score for the night owls!!

I think he's still racing through the end of the season. Might as well watch him while you can!

that's not the way a proper F1 fan would refer to it :p

FP1 is at night here and FP2 will be obviously lat but I'll still watch it.

Longtimefan, think like this: this is the last time we get to see Schumacher driving a F1 car in Suzuka, so let's watch every second of it ;)

Many team bringing new parts so I guess we should expect a rather boring FP1...

I mean a lot cruising laps and short stints.

Nah, I think we will see good running. And alot of laps, weather is sunny and fine. Not gonna be more boring than usual I think.

Williams: Only Maldonado is testing the new exhaust. So I expect Senna to do a lot of laps.
edit: and also Lotus apparently (thanks JamesHunt) will "split" the evaluation of new parts.

Only 9PM here, so its almost ideal other than the fact that I'm missing football, but its just Cardinals/Rams anyway. Wont be staying up for FP2, but it'll be ready to watch tomorrow on the DVR.

Looks nice out there. Whats the temperature like?

Some glitchy audio on Sky aside, great to see that FOM are indeed the host broadcaster this weekend, taking over from Fuji (and their shoddy handheld cameras) - lots of non Fuji angles already showing up - basically all around the lap...

Flow vis on the Ferrari front wing. They've really been working on that for a while now.

Interesting snippet, Lewis thinks Red Bull have had the best car, but that McLaren is in the top 3.

Luckily F1 rarely overlaps with football. Except for the Austin race. :|

yeah if you compare Mclaren with HRT, lets wait a minute to let more cars set laptimes...

TV directing is ridiculous the moment. There are cars on the track yet the director wants to focus on the Williams and Fernando in the garage, and for some considerable amount of time.

Fastest time in FP1 by anyone last year was a 1:33.6. Already pretty close to that.

Mclaren's running a really barn door rear wing.

Good spot, he must have cut some corner or he's been sandbagging on all his other laps

Lovely morning here in India. Sadly no coverage of FPs and being in office means cannot watch it online. :( Live timings as of now.

Mercedes showed good pace on FP1, so this is a good moment for me to say my prediction: They won't make it to Q3.

I like to make predictions when things doesn't look be according to them so that I look like a smarta$$ later :p

Maybe Hulkenberg impresses them instead. :D Only half a second off the best time currently, which was set in similar track conditions.
