Massa did a bit of "Perez (benefiting from having more fresh tyres due to not making into Q3, gaining position at start, different strategy of stopping later than most others, having clear air in front throughout race, etc)" for this race, and who knows what Alonso cudve done, but nonetheless fact remains that Massa performed excellent.

Yeah I agree - a DNF for Alonso would be a disaster...

You were saying? Oh man the worst possible result.

Thanks to Kimi my signature is looking very shaky indeed. :well:

Sorry about that... fwiw I was calling Alonso as WDC months ago, and tbh I would like to see him do it but Vettel and RBR are ominously on a roll now...

Hey not your fault mate. I was a bit cocky and tempting fate with the signature anyway.

Please tell me Bathurst is next weekend. Otherwise, I totally forgot Aussie's greatest race was on. :drunk:

*double facepalm*

OK thanks for the tip. I blame our useless TV3 who had nothing on yesterday so I assumed it wasn't this weekend. ):

The last hour is as good as you can get without anyone making a real dive. Still a bit annoyed he didn't chuck one up the inside, probably wipe both cars out but it'd be worth it if he pulled it off.

It looked like he was going to or had been crying, when i seen his interview on Sky after the race. Wether its truly affected him or not time will tell, no way hes going to lose that seat though next year, another Maldanado.

I see, perhaps he is racing under condition of suspention (by Eric), and if so, depends how the team will assess the incident independently of FiA.

You seem to have missed the bit where he said he hoped Koba got the podium .........otherwise cool story bro

you know lip service?
He clearly was enjoying the mocking and expecting him dropping off, and sounded sour and awkward after the checqured flag fell. I'm really losing last bit of respect I had for the likes of Brundle and Allen, who are the culprit spinning and agitating this "Kamui driving for career" nonesense.

Anyone paying decent attention to each drivers performance not just result and doing analysis as any proper journalists or professionals are expected to do should know Kamui's been very unlucky and his performance has been actually quite good, hence cannot be uttering such thing as "driving for career".

Also didnt he say sth like "maybe this podium wasnt planned by Sauber (implying their next year driver selection)"? Really disgusting man.

Ricciardo driver of the race.

Should land a Williams or Sauber drive.

Agree, great race by Ricciardo.

Unfortunately he got in the way at the wrong time and helped Massa up to 2nd place.

A few interesting things that I got from this race:

- Red Bull and SV have regained their mojo
- Montezemelo might have been spot on about Perez lacking experience
- Judging by Ferrari's race pace, Alonso would have had a good finishing position had it not been for the incident at the start
- McLaren's performance at this track is puzzling after all the build-up last week
- Crowd support can be a motivating factor as displayed by KK's podium - I'm very happy for him
- Advice to Fernando...stay away from the Lotus cars

Indeed, and to be more specific: dont cause accidents yourself with those Lotus cars anymore.

Yes Mclaren's pace is puzzling... Massa versus Button. Second stint pace was puzzling, I heard the commentators talk about gear box issues for JB, that it was going to neutral or something. He is too slow in second stint.

Wow! BIG apology from RG. "I kept my line and that stupid Mark Webber got in my way". MW described him as a nutcase. Got it in one Markie. Another display like yesterday and he may also be nut-less

Thanks for that, engel.

He didn't look close to tears, I felt he was defensive and he definitely didn't apologize to anyone, he merely described his mistake. oh well...

It seemed to me that Jenson was looking after his tyres, there was no point in running very close to Perez. After the first stop, his only realistic hope of gaining a place was to be on much better tyres at the end of each stint. That's not easy when racing against a Sauber, but Jenson actually achieved it, although he didn't get the overtake.

I read somewhere that the gearbox issue only happened in first few laps after each stop, and was due to sensors overheating while the car was stationary.
