Great job from Vandoorne but there's a massive chunk missing from his front left! Lucky to even finish the race by the looks of it!

Yep, lucky lad. So it's Da Costa vs. Vandoorne for 2013 I guess.

I wouldn't write off Magnussen either.

Incredible performance from Vandoorne, dominating it even though he is a rookie. Clearly this guy is F1 material and McLaren was right to put him in their drivers academy.

He looks good but its a bit early for that, Kevin Korjus was very impressive to begin with but completely fell away after that. Lets see how he's doing in another 12 months.

Good stuff from Oliver Webb too, he dropped off the radar a bit after his stint in Indy Lights.

It is still a bit early but setting a pole position (in the rain though) a full second quicker as the 2nd fastest and 3 full seconds quicker as the midpack drivers is something I can't remember to have seen at this level. The fact that he did this on a wet track is a clear indication of his talent. And in the race he coped perfectly with a flat spot on his tyres, controlling the race to the finish with a 7 secs gap over 2nd place. He reminds me of Robin Frijns last year and I think he will run for the championship. Da Costa (who will undoubtedly be in F1 next year with Torro Rosso) will probably still win the title but I think Vandoorne and Magnussen (who I also rate very highly) will give him a run for his money. If Torro Rosso decides to promote Da Costa to F1 already in the summer (they did that before with Alguersuari) then I think Vandoorne could run away with the title.

Yes, I'm glad he did well, even though his teammate did better. Webb had a dreadfull and highly dissapointing campaign for Schmidt Motorsports in Indy Lights last year so I'm glad he had an encouraging result.

yup, finally something worked in favour of da Costa... anyone knows what happened to him at the start?

Yes. He said the car entered in safety mode accidentally at the start.

Da Costa on pole from Vandoorne for race 2, Stoffel suffered an exhaust failure just before the end of the session so couldn't get his final few laps.

Pretty pissed off at Eurosport for not showing the race, i wish Sky would acquire the rights and show it on their F1 channel!

EDIT: Oops, not an exhaust failure but electrical problems, Fortec still working on it!

Pic is so fast... faster than the 3 leaders. Really sucks he had a bad qualification for both races

edit: just when I said that, he lost 2 seconds in the next lap =/ ah well, still a good race

So that gives Vandoorne a 4 point lead over Magnussen (who finished 2nd in both races). da Costa a further 9 points back.

Going to be an interesting season with those three. I was surprised when Da Costa didn't manage to drop Magnussen.

Doesn't Eurosport realise a highlights package means "the best bits of the race" not just "show us the start and the last few laps and hack a lump out of the middle"

I don't know. He will replace Buemi as 3rd driver. Because Buemi will participate with Toyota at Silverstone for WEC.

Hey guys, just to let you know that this weekend I will be in China GP as 3rd driver of Infiniti Red Bull Racing. Nice to be part of the Red Bull familly.

It's on his official Facebook page. And also on the portuguese Autosport as Noikee said.

from FR3.5 news - AUTOSPORT.com
Formula 2 runner-up Matheo Tuscher will join the Formula Renault 3.5 grid with Zeta Corse for this weekend's Aragon round

I think this kid must be pretty good, I don't rate Formula-Palmer-on-Steroids at all, but to come 2nd in it at the age of 16(!!) as he did takes some talent. Looking forward to see what he can do.

Zeta Corse might not be the best outfit out there, still it is good to see this promising young driver getting a shot. And if Zanella could get a podium finish on his debut...
