Couldn't agree more. Give it a couple of years and I think it will happen.Anyone else think Texas II should be at Circuit of the Americas? Put's a road course in the chase...
BTW thanks again to those who PM'ed me re: Sandy. You guys are so nice.
Truck News:
Couple of names to look out for this weekend. German Quiroga returns to the series, as does Brendan Gaughan and Ryan Blaney.
Brandon McReynolds straps into the Turner #4, and Cup guys Aric Almirola and Kyle are in it to win it.
Nur Ali however, after being called to a meeting with NASCAR, has elected not to run, and instead will race at PIR.

We're all good mate. Our roof hatch blew straight off the roof, but we kept power throughout the whole thing.
Piquet P1 in er, P1. Held P2 on his first run, instantly fastest on the second. Seems comfortable.
Followed by:
Kligerman
Buescher
Peters
Coulter
KyBu
Townley -assuming the throttle stuck-
McReynolds
Paludo, and
Sauter.

Acording to the cota thtead, Tilke was givem a premade layoutI don't really think NASCAR would be all that entertaining on a Tilkedrome.

Haven't watched, what's going on?
I think this practice sets the qualifying order. From the positions I've just seen on twitter, JJ may have a hard time this weekend.

Speed is airing adds for F1 2012, and Danica in the latest Sonic racer. (yes, she is racing blue in the NNS, update you jinxes)?
Haven't watched, what's going on?
Edit: Ah yes, and a Ku Bu special: «Kurt Bush The Outlaw», that title almost makes him look harmless.

I believe it's basically a way to make pit stops faster, tho it doesn't seem to work in all tracks, and I am pretty sure they use it only in early-mid race distance.I got a question for you all. Why are guys taking only left side tires during races? Is this something relatively new?

That's what I was thinking, you save the time of having to run in front of the car two times. I guess you do increase the grip somewhat too.
Thanks!

where tyre wear isn't an issue they usually do it for track position particularly if they pit under caution- amazingly for something that has all the aero of a house brick, NASCAR has the same "dirty air" issues that you see in F1 and Indy Car- and near car parity makes overtaking on the 1.5 mile tracks very difficult

I think the why is why left-sides. It used to be a right-side-only thing. Which makes sense, that's the loaded tire.
Yeah. Exactly. That's my question.

I can see in a splash-n-go situation where the gas-man has to empty half a can, they might as well dive in there and take two lefts if they figure there'll be no time loss vs just waiting for the gas-man and taking no tires.
Changing two lefts must be quicker than taking just two rights, right?

Even more if you are the Mclaren crew.Changing two lefts must be quicker than taking just two rights, right?
Meanwhile JJ seems to be doing another Vettel impersonation (tho the reverse would actually be true), pole so far.
#29
Posted 02 November 2012 - 21:29
Maybe cos they changed just the rights on the previous stop.Yeah. Exactly. That's my question.
Depending on the track, how the car is set up, and the compounds (different for L and R sides of the car), the lefts can actually wear faster, too.

Ads for F1 2012? You mean Abu Dhabi and the rest of the season...or do you mean 2013?Speed is airing adds for F1 2012, and Danica in the latest Sonic racer. (yes, she is racing blue in the NNS, update you jinxes)
Edit: Ah yes, and a Ku Bu special: «Kurt Bush The Outlaw», that title almost makes him look harmless.
Perhaps whoever is involved (SPEED, PR folk) are simply trying to market Kurt Busch in the same manner as another driver

I suppose this answers the age old question about nature calling during the race.
Better than Taylor Swift I guess...
#36
Posted 02 November 2012 - 23:23
exceptions would be plate races (grip isnt much of a issue) and nns/truck where there very limited on tyres, so taking left sides means you can put on 2 rights later on (which would typicaly be more effective)
left side only is probably 2 seconds quicker as on the right side only change the crew have to run back before the driver leaves the box

Thought Piquet might have been able to grab second there, with Klig saving fuel and only two fresh tires. Oh well.
