I think that HistoryFan is looking for a chain. A from Team 1 to Team 2, B from Team 2 to Team 3, C from Team 3 to Team 4 etc. (It would be nice to close the chain with Z from Team 26 to Team 1 but I don't think it ever happened.)
Yes that's what I'm searching for.

Johnny Herbert to Sauber from Benetton
Gerhard Berger to Benetton from Ferrari
Eddie Irvine to Ferrari from Jordan
Martin Brundle to Jordan from Ligier
Pedro Diniz to Ligier from Forti Corse
Luca Badoer to Forti Corse from Minardi
Taki Inoue to Minardi from Arrows (I accept that Inoue never raced for Minardi, but he was signed)
Ricardo Rosset to Arrows from the Super Nova F3000 team
Kenny Brack to Super Nova from Madgwick Motorsport
Pedro Couceiro to Madgwick Motorsport from ??? (my knowledge of mind 1990s Portuguese F3000 runners is not good enough to work out where Couceiro had been racing in '95).

If not, I kind of got a chain of 10 for 1995/96
Sauber - Benetton - Ferrari - Benetton - Ferrari -Jordan - Ligier - Forti - Minardi - Footwork
Herbert - Berger - Schumacher - Alesi - Irvine - Brundle - Diniz - Badoer - Inoue - Verstappen
Inoue had paid for the seat, then the money pulled out.
Bsc, ha-ha, great minds think alike, we both went for roughly the same chain at the same point!

That are just a few long transfer chains, but I'm not sure that are the longest...
