F1 Racing's James Roberts tweeted this earlier:
James Roberts @JRobertsF1
I must admit, much more was happening in the paddock today than it was on track...

And despite you wanting to know all the gossip, I couldn't possibly print something unless I knew it was absolutely true... Sorry!

Looks like we may have our answer...

(genuine question, lol)
I also wonder if it would be a 'key in hand' thing with the Concorde agreement fully settled, or if they are peeking their nose in precisely because it isn't.

It can't be worse than a bunch of faceless bankers?
The only thing worse (and more useless) than bankers is News Corp...
Is there much of F1 up for sale though, CVC have been selling chunks off to other private equity firms over the past year.

I'm not concerned that it's Newscorp, but that it's a media company that likes the subscription model.
For sure. My bitch too.

If anyone has a link, please post it, but I cannot recall seeing the confirmation that CA is done and sealed, despite that Mercedes was last hold up. FiA's hike came out only the other day, and it seems that so far only RBR has accepted those. Where it is all heading is good question. It can't be worse than a bunch of faceless bankers?

It's an interesting time for a big, big player to insert itself in the negotiations, so big and close that it's not going to be treated like normal.
This could easily change F1 as we know it, fast.

At India Ecclestone said HRT has not signed yet but I'm not sure if they count in this caseActually the FIA is the last remaining hold up, the teams are apparently all sorted..

The only place the Murdochs should by flying is a maximum security prison for the next 10 years.
Break away series please.
Agree with you totally. It's really scary if they are going to have an influence on F1.
They will definitively only make it worse

I'm concerned that it's a media company full stop. If the championship story does not turn out to be what the buyer wants, will it be somewhat amended? It is significant that Manchester United for example did not win a title in the 25 years before the Premiership started, and then won it in the first Premiership season, when Sky was (a) looking to sell Premiership rights worldwide and (b) a Manchester United shareholder.I'm not concerned that it's Newscorp, but that it's a media company that likes the subscription model.

They'd be buying FOM, not the FIA.

Interesting, anybody know if Exor (Agnelli investment company) are involved too just like earlier this year when there were rumours that a Exor/News Corp consortium were interested in the F1 rightsVia the back of tomorrow's Daily Mirror.... http://twitpic.com/b9qrbn/full
