Massive disappointment, yet more reliability issues.... 2012 has been a season to forget for all concerned at McLaren.

Who says it's an engine problem? Looked like an electronic or fuel pick-up problem to me.

Its the nervous Newey 90's for McLaren all over again, everytime we have a race won the car breaks down, 99 2000 and 2005 all over again.

i don't know which makes the prospects of next year worse, the drivers that sucks big time and have no class at all or the team that keep making mistakes, but huge congrat to kimi

Perez has me worried at the moment, its as if his maturity level/race craft has gone backwards since he signed for McLaren, he better shape up! ps circuit of the americas is custom made for Red Bull and we're never good at Brazil anymore, i think this was our last chance for a win.

Gutting, it really is.

Happy for Kimi though, wish we had re-signed him.

Good luck guys for next year with Button as the lead driver. Just hope that the car won't have much problem like this year. To get Button at the front of the grid is already a huge challenge, please don't waste that rare occasion like how it was done this year.

I think it's pretty clear what McLaren wants. They want Button above Lewis in the championship points at the end of the season.

Nice McLaren, throwing away easy wins as usual. Thank god I don't need to support this team anymore next year. I'm done. Pure joke.

Have fun with Button as #1 driver, which is what you wanted all the time Whitmarsh.

hahahahha youre joking right? You think McLaren stopped his car now or something? You Lewis lot get worse by the race! Oh the irony if it turns out to be a Merc part that put him out, Ross Brawn already sabotaging him to give Rosberg advantage.

Oh ffs... what a joke this whole season is becoming. All I ask of the next two races is that they give Hamilton a car that makes it to the end. Don't care any more about the points. I'll just enjoy seeing that yellow helmet in the chrome car for two more races then retire my VMM victory t-shirt and look forward to the Mercedes years.

The team has screwed Lewis over this season from the start. Take a look at almost every race, and see. Whether intentional or not, the team is a joke.

Sorry...what did McLaren do to Lewis here? There is no loyalty in Formula 1 anymore is there? I cant wait for McLaren to win a championship again without Lewis just so the lot of you can cry foul again.

Well, I'm wondering how much of a fanbase McLaren has lost now and how much effect that will have on marketing and sales of merchandise.

I know I've bought my last piece of McLaren gear and this is my last season supporting them. Its not even to do with Lewis leaving but with how they have performed, how they have treated a driver, how the have competed and their strategy, mr hindsight whitmarsh, I'm just waiting to see what crap he will come out with now. The constent talking up and the concentrating on stuff like cartoons rather then performing on the track. The stupid missing of a test to do promotions. Its too much.

Do you think it will be in the 1,000s, the 10,000s they have lost?

Why not? You blatantly blamed McLaren for him retiring, what do you want them to do? Magically stop the car from breaking down when something electrical goes wrong, that could be one of a million things? I really do hope it was a Mercedes failure of some sort.
