Marquez will be big, I predict/wildguess his first win will come at Aragon.

At least I hope so.

I'm going to be bold and predict that Rossi will be champion and that Marquez will NOT win a race.

I think Marquez will for sure win a race.. and I think his season will closely mirror Jorge's rookie year in 2008. Lots of speed, lots of crashes.

Rossi back at Yamaha and Crutchlow/Smith at Tech 3 should be great :)

I can't see Bradders (argh) doing anything special next year. In fact I think he'll struggle to keep his seat.

Marques will be up there. Jonathan Rea never had problems and was soon running around in the top 10 - Marques is a much better rider than Rea. Don't forget, all the electronics are there to make racing easier - not harder.

Tech 3's Moto2 bike is essentially the same as it was in 2010. Bradley was getting podiums on it last year and he was going about half a second quicker this year.

Statistically, Bradley Smith is the most successful British rider since Barry Sheene.

It doesn't seem to me that it's all that easy to be a rookie in motoGP anymore. I don't doubt Marquez potential, but doubt that he will win a race in 2013. Pedrosa, Rossi and Lorenzo will divide the wins between them. It's my "guess/prediction" anyway.

The tyres will be the biggest factor for Marquez. If he can cope with them straight away, then the podium will beckon early season, IMO.

Top 10 out of 12 prototypes isn't exactly a big achievement.

Electronics are there to make the bike faster, not to make it easier to ride.

Don't forget that the expectations are pretty high for any factory rider, he needs to be beating the customer Yamahas and Hondas almost always, and at least one factory bike on at least a few occasions to have a successful season.

I still would have Scott Redding for his more combative style also, it's only since getting more aggressive that Danny Kent has been getting better results in Moto3. Smith always seems to go backwards.

However, having said that, both Moto2 and Moto3 have a lot closer racing and argy bargy than MotoGP and so perhaps this will suit Bradley better ?? He's not slow when he has a bit of space. We shall see.

I'd have Scott over Bradley every time, but as you say, Andy, there's less elbows out racing in the top class so you never know how he'll stack up.

It's been a pleasure to see Danny Kent's improvement during this season. For me he was one of the riders who struggled to adapt to the Moto3 bikes, but in the latter half of the season he's come on a ton.

It's going to be an interesting 2013 for fans of the Britpack.

I think Danny Kent is the one to watch out of all the Brits in the three classes. If I had to put money on one as a future champion, it would be him.

Yeah, and he had 2 very impressive wins to finish off the year.

Marques got it down to a second slower

He's pretty much answered all the questions about his ability after the first few hours on the bike.

Stoner - who he?

Iannone's fastest lap on the satellite Ducati was only half a second behind Marquez. Think we're going to have an interesting year.

If you're good enough, you can win multiples races on the best bike as a rookie. Rossi, Pedrosa and Lorenzo showed it's possible. Pedrosa won't win them all, so Marquez will win multiple races next year.... Book it!! :smoking:

It's been a while since Rossi and Lorenzo had their debut. Who have done it lately? Now you have to enter with a different set of bikes, and you are up against riders like Rossi, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. I'd go with rostrums for MM, not wins, the first season.

Randy de Puniet will likely have a second job in 2013 as Suzuki's test rider for their new 1000cc prototype. Presumably he's hoping for a ride in 2014 when they return. Fingers crossed, I'd love to see RdP back on a prototype.

RdP was often quicker than Espargaro in quali this year, but the spaniard beat him fair and square in races. I think everybody, including RdP himself, thought he would trash the CRT field this year (remember him saying "I'm a second faster than any other CRT rider" at Jerez during winter testing) and this haven't been the case. So I don't think he deserves a prototype more than anybody else. Maybe he wasn't very motivated by the CRT challenge but still.

Espargaro deserves the prototype more than RDP, I like Randy, but he makes far too many mistakes. Id rather Espargaro get on a prototype than Randy.

I don't suggest that he's the most deserving of a prototype ride, but I'd still like to see him on one. Maybe Suzuki could take both of them? Even better - make Aspar the works team.

He isn't racing the prototype he is developing it, comparing RdP's and Espargaro's experience on prototypes it's fairly obvious why RdP was chosen

I also read that the Aprilia and the BMW doesn't seem to like the new 17in tyres very much, unlike the Kawasaki.

Anyone watching practice in Austin? Looks like it'll be fabulous for motorcycles, except for the 3 long-straight-to-hairpins which look fully as bad as the terrible WSBK one at the bottom of the straight at Aragon. Shame they couldn't work out something a bit more open and constant radius-y.
