WSBK looks like it might be a great season after all. Not sure who is favourite after looking at all the testing times.

Do others do the fantasyleague at MCN?

WSBK is going to be great this year again. I suggest everyone here enjoys and watches it because im pretty sure Dorna will kill WSBK after this year to save MotoGp.

Also intereting to see what the new Panigale will do in WSBK, especially since it's a frameless bike just like what Ducati used to use in MotoGP...

Looks like everything I "knew" was wrong, Honda RCV213 has a 90 degree V so the Desmosedici's problem is not the engine layout.

Honda RC213V Revealed To Use A 90°V Engine - Now, Rethink Ducati's Problems

So nothing is wrong besides solving the puzzle then.

Nonsense
Why would a business kill off a money making product?
How could they justify a decision like that to shareholders?

Sounds like Dorna have already called in one favour from their favourite petrostate... ;)

Bautista has signed for one more year with Gresini. That's weird so early in the season.

When Suzuki return, they'll probably have to join up with an existing team as Dorna won't let them join as a new factory team. They'll probably join up with Aspar to run De Puniet and Espargaro.

All we know is that de Puniet is their test rider, but there's no more link with Aspar than that.

Depends on how competitive the Yamaha is. If it's 3-4 10ths faster on average, he'll stand a real good chance of beating them. I feel MM will be close enough to beat Dani head to head occasionally come the 2nd third of the season is done.

MY worry is that he comes in and causes a stir like Sic did, with overly aggressive riding. Similar to MM, Lorenzo, who scored pole in his 1st 4 races, and won yamaha's 1st race that year, had a reputation for being overly aggressive. I can't say how impressed I've been that he's been able to curb that aggression.

See no reason why MM can't replicate that kind of performance.

There is absolutely no chance a rookie (even if it's Marquez) will win the title against Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi. Okay, there's one scenario I could see it happening: Pedrosa's throttle gets stuck again and puts him into the hospital for an extended time, and the Honda is clearly faster than Yamaha throughout the year.

Just an FYI for U.S. viewers.

I've been doing a daily search on my DirecTV dvr and this morning got a listing for Philip Island this Saturday night. Coverage is listed as a 5 hour window(4:30 pm to 9:30pm Pacific),though it doesn't say if its live or tape.

The broadcast is on something called beIN Sport (be in?) and is on channel 620 on DirecTV. Might be part of the super-duper premium package so you might need to upgrade. It is available in both HD and Standard broadcast.

WSBK was picked up by BEIN last week from what I've read. BEIN was channel 408 on DISH a few days ago but has now switched to 392 I believe. BEIN2 is listed as HD but every time I've seen BEIN2 while in my local Peruvian chicken joint its only in ESP. At any rate, if you have BEIN I suspect coverage should be decent. I had no idea who they were either 6 months ago. However, BEIN has the rights to La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 amongst a whole host of other international sports such a cycling, handball, and volleyball in the states. I believe they are owned by Al Jezzerra Network so they have strong backing. They'll lose nothing to SpeedTV.

The organizers - after consulting Pirelli - reduce the WSS race distance from 21 to 15 laps.

I don't know what they expect after the last years race (when they bring the same spec tyres, and there was a lot of punctures and tyre troubles). Lame band...

Last year's race is irrelevant in this case, the circuit has been resurfaced. Pirelli should have noticed the wear problems the superbike teams were having in the test though.

The new surface is worst than the former - as some said.

PS: MV look fast. Rolfo 3rd.

Németh Balázs injured, he will miss the race. Talmácsi Gábor also crashed, ha alo might miss this race, the doctors will decide it tomorrow.

Brands mightn't be able to accommodate them. They've a club race that weekend on the Indy circuit and I think they're restricted on the number of days they can run the gp track - they'd have to cancel something major.
Donnington wouldn't be a bad alternative either.

Pretty much 1/4 of the grid is British but they're gonna race in turkey for Kenan Ididntseeyou.......

Wow. Pagi takes the pole:

http://www.crash.net...1199_debut.html

http://www.crash.net...ying_times.html

1m 30.234s

Could be 3rd in last years GP almost 1 and a half sec ahead of the best Ducati (Rossi). Laverty also do a better time then the 3rd Pedrosa, and the first six was quicker than the MotoGP 6th Crutchlow.

Tha last man - Iannuzo - in 21th place - was same fast then GP 14-15th Pirro & Petrucci.

You can't compare times from completely different days like that. Did they even have the new surface for the MotoGP race?

What a Ducati on pole with a bike without a frame? Great stuff. This again proves they know how to built great bikes. They just need to sort out why it isnt happening in MotoGP as well.

The Pirelli compounds aren't too far apart. The laptimes are definitely better with an SC1 or SC0 but the SC2 (which is probably his race tire) is only a few tenths at most away.
