Rossi quickest today
In the dry!
Marquez 1.1 seconds off the pace. No idea why though.....

Bradders Smith 2 seconds off the pace......

Both still getting to grips with the track on a MotoGP bike perhaps? I'm sure Marquez will be top 4 in Qatar with ease and Smith getting closer to Crutchlow. Marquez certainly looks to be the best talent stepping up from Moto2 since Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo. Has to say something Honda is giving him a factory bike straight away.

This guys still spews so much nonsense. He's explained, quite matter of factly, that Marquez was slow because he's trying to unlearn how to ride a Moto2 machine. Like he has a clue what the testing program was.

Kinda like "stoner's slow on the straight becaus he can't push himself onto the tank because of his bummed ankle. This guy's probably never touched a motorcycle in his life, even with his paddock passes.

Nice to see The Doctor back on top, even it's just a test session. I'm expecting a great 3, maybe 4-way fight for the championship this year.

From SuperbikePlanet
Marc Marquez
7th
1'40.714

"We managed 36 laps and improved quite a lot from the beginning to the end but we can still improve a lot further. At first I found myself riding the Moto2 lines but gradually I learnt and began taking different lines which suit the MotoGP machine better. We worked on the rear grip and struggled to improve, maybe we spent too much time in this area. However, we fixed some problems and now we have some new issues to deal with that we must work on tomorrow"

Stand corrected!!!

But that's my natural reaction to anything I this guy says. Forgive the "I," Just a week or so ago, he was saying Marquez was doing things you shouldn't be able to do on a bike. ???

Why couldnt they just use the livery theyve been using so far.......

Yeah that livery was wonderful but this does not look bad at all, infact I quite like it. Love white front fender/mud guard.

So did anyone watch Phillip Island on beIN Sports in the States? I just upgraded satellite packages just to get that and NBC Sports (speed was on the cheap package). Please tell me I didn't waste my money.

Yamaha Engine Lease Deal Almost Set For 2014
"But few other details about prospective customers or the engine spec are settled, although Jarvis said it would be at least as powerful and upgraded as the M1 engines that Yamaha supplies to its satellite team, Tech 3"

So much for 'cutting edge' motorcycle racing. Moto2 looking like 60's racing with outdated bikes that are well behind what can be picked up in a shop. Why can't they allow the engines to be worked on?

A nice earner for Honda all ways - get paid for engines and have a guaranteed world champion every year.

Where has Bradley Smith been for the last couple of years? I thought everyone knew Dovi set up his bikes completely differently to other riders, yet Bradley has been testing without changing Dovi's settings !

Looks to be a two way battle between Lorenzo and Pedrosa again, with Honda having a slight edge over Yamaha at the moment. Behind those two expect Rossi and Marquez. Crutchlow, Bradl and Bautista look set for a good battle behind the top four, followed by the Ducati's of Dovizioso and Hayden and perhaps rookie Bradley Smith if he gets his setup right. And Andrea Iannone looks set for a few surprises on his satellite Ducati, after beating the factory Ducati's in pre season testing.

Top CRT bikes are still the Aspar team with Espargaro and De Puniet, but the Kawasaki Blusens team are going to take the fight to them for the CRT championship, they've got a nice line up with Barbera and Aoyama.

I watched and I was happy with the coverage.

Still the Euro coverage with Johnathan Green and Steve Martin but it was live, which is a rarity for us.

Don't know if the European races will be live though.

The NBCSports network has done a fine job with the F1 and Indycar telecasts so far.

Does anyone have a skybox or something with a guide in the UK or Euro? How long does it say the GP is going to be? For some reason speed is broadcasting it but it only says an hour, I'm suspect if it's highlights

Sounds fine, the race is about 45 minutes (unlikely to be rain delays!). BBC has about 30 min of preshow.

We're only one practice in but it's encouraging. A fast Rossi is good for the commercial side of MotoGP.

Impressive by Espargaro to be that quick in fp1, considering the crt's still lack quite a lot of top speed. Will be interesting to see if they can keep about that distance or if that's all they got.

Not really, they dominated at Sepang and Austin, but Yamaha was faster at Jerez.

No surprise with Dovi. The Ducati was never that bad on a green track. Honda was always the opposite, so their struggles are understandable. Yamaha is a good all rounder. No diff than last year.

I dont think its much that its a green track, it just seems like Ducati like to show their one-lap pace a bit more than others this stage of the weekend. Past couple years, you could always tell looking at their other runs(ones that you dont see on the final times sheets) that they're not doing all that great still.

As far as Honda goes, its just not a Honda track. Casey was good on it, but other than him(who loved this place), its been the Yamaha show.

I would recommend you look the little upstart heading FP2. ;)

Edit: I agree with you though, imo Yamaha is working on race set up already.
