Shakey Byrne extends his contract with Paul Bird Kawasaki to ride in BSB for another year. Weirdly enough, it'll be the first time he's spent two consecutive seasons with the same team (yes, I had to look that up).

The right choice. It'll be much better to see him at the front. The prototype ship has long since sailed away for Byrne.

So who's going to end up on the Paul Bird CRT bike? If he's going to have a British rider he's fast running out of options.

Also in the news - Keith Farmer will be Shakey's team mate on the Kawasaki. Watch this kid, he is quick.

If you're good enough, you can win multiples races on the best bike as a rookie. Rossi, Pedrosa and Lorenzo showed it's possible. Pedrosa won't win them all, so Marquez will win multiple races next year.... Book it!! :smoking:

Yep, the speed should be shown early. For instance, Stoner got pole on his second race weekend in MotoGP, and not on a factory bike. He got a second in his third race. I'm not sure though that not going really quick early on means you won't be one day, because there may be a reason why the bike is not right for some riders.

Who finance the PBM's CRT projeckt? They have sponsors in BSB, they had in WSB, but they have no sponsors in GP, and imho it's a bit expensive hobby to spend a lot of money for an absolute backmarker bike...

Dorna gives the CRT teams a lot of money. And I think that, starting from 2013, they won't give money for the non-CRT teams anymore.

He seemed to do a reasonable job at BMW. I think a big problem he had was that a lot of the engineering team were originally from the BMW F1 team and were still getting their head around bike racing.

This hungarian article said the Giuliano Rovelli (ParkinGO) do negotiate with MV Agusta bosses to run a team in WSS. One of the rider would be Luca Scassa, but he wants a two rider team, and he also want a step-up to WSB from 2014.

The article also said thet Dorna boss Ezpelata heavily support this idea.

Does anyone know who Paul Bird Motorsport is signing up because all I know is that they wanted an all British line-up but that looks very unlikely now?

The idea of the all british line up is over since Dorna is paying for the second PBM entry, and will put the rider of their choice there (probably Hernandez).

Sam Lowes, Byrne and Hill were the favorites for the other ride but now ... well I guess Paul Bird has Alex Lowes' phone number as well.

They should of kept James Ellison when they had the chance, I thought he did a good job for the team last season but Paul Bird was sure to have Shane Byrne in the team.

Well, there will be some MV F4s in BSB so who knows. Would be nice to see the F3 out there as well. They are stunning motorcycles.

Good news. I hope Triumph will stay in the championship too.

PTR find their 4th rider:
http://www.crash.net..._ptr_honda.html

I read in a hungarian site, that they will have a 5th rider. I hope he will be Németh Balázs, but it depends on money.

Looks like PTR will not win the title again in 2013, their line up is really disapointing.

IMHO Németh Balázs is a very underrated rider in outside of Hungary. Imho both Balázs and Talmácsi Gábor could win the title (or fight for that) with a decent bike (like the 2012 top PTRs)

...

What about Triumph?

Any chance to a BSS/WSS change in Smiths Racing?

Typical Dean Adams fluff. Bostrom is asked if he'd be open to it and says yes and suddenly is worthy of an article?

Laglisse's Pablo Nieto stated that Vinales beat the Moto3 circuit record by half-a-second on day one with the factory spec KTM machinery - then went one-second under the record on day two.

In the previous thread I said I believed Vinales would've won the championship had he been on a KTM, that doesn't seem too far fetched anymore

That will be bad for her. Vinales will walk Moto 3 next year on the KTM.

It's not as though anyone is going to be expecting anything of her. She ought to be in with a fairly decent shout of becoming the first female points scorer since Taru Rinne.

I can't see how Michael Laverty is an improvement on James Ellison.

Ellison says that he was told he'd still be with the team and that if it wasn't on the CRT he'd definitely be on a PBM Kawasaki in BSB. He's had a difficult year where on top of the racing he's had to put up with Paul Bird constantly dropping hints about replacing him with Shane Byrne, once even live on the Eurosport BSB coverage. Now Bird seems to have ditched him entirely. That's pretty bad form in my book, regardless of the on-track performance.
