Can anyone do me a favor and briefly sum up the current technical differences between AMA SBK, WSBK, and BSB?

I wonder whether they've identified this as a way of attracting manufacturers back to their series, and are delaying a decision to gauge interest from the usual suspects. Would be awfully ironic after what happened in 2009. All that said, you'd think Honda, BMW, Kawasaki etc would like to race in a series with a TV deal, given any choice.

I only half follow AMA, mainly because of the on-off nature of its coverage in the UK but has there actually been a fully fledged factory effort in AMA in the last 10-15 years? I always thought it was essentially an importer/private team based championship.

I think they'd be better going down the minimal electronics/common ECU route that BSB have. The more affordable the racing, the bigger the grids.
It might help close up the racing too because pretty much every race I saw last year was a fairly strung out affair which definitely doesn't help TV ratings.....

That looks pretty good. Plenty of potentially interesting intra-team battles, either from the start (Laverty-Guintoli; Rea-Haslam; Melandri-Davies) or perhaps later in the season (Sykes-Baz; Checa-Badovini; Camier-Cluzel)

Every year is crucial for Dani. But at the same time it really isnt. Who is better than him that will replace him. Same story different year.

It doesn't even make sense to say if he doesn't win it this year he never will. He's not exactly in a wheelchair. Not sure why they said it unless trying to motivate him.

Not sure what wheelchairs have to do with dani but this is his last chance to be champion because once Marquez finds his feet Dani will be the No 2 Honda rider.
And I don't think he'll be champ this year....

Not surprised one bit by the news. Casey has been very vocal about trying out the series and he has made numerous appearances at race weekends. Wish him the best of luck, and looking forward to see how he does on 4 wheels (I hope he can powerslide the cars as well as he can powerslide a bike).

I like how he isn't trying to jump straight into the main series as well. This gives him a chance in to equipment in a developmental sense, whereas many would expect results off the bat if he had jumped straight into a V8SC seat.

Dont think so, blue bikes in the 2013 campaign video.

I think its more that Lorenzos colour is black.

I think they've just given him a generic suit to make it clear he's wearing HJC now. Especially as it's their colours too, but who knows!

This article said, Ducati want to deal with Biaggi. They want him to became a test rider in 2013 and to race in 2014 with Carlos.

From what i can understand it's for the superbike team?

I can't see that happen although i wish it would. I would have loved to see Biaggi follow up Bayliss back in 2009 at the factory team. I think they would have gotten a lot better results compared to what Haga did. Biaggi was doing very well on the 1098 back in 2008 being the 2nd Ducati rider in the end results riding a non factory bike and being injured during the season by a big crash in philip island and being run off track at monza.

But i can't see Biaggi doing this, he has gone out the best way possible and he will be 42/43 if he comes back in 2014 that's not going to help a lot either.

Yes, for the WSB team (remember, that's an Alstare now)

pros:

+he raced with the team (Alstare) in 2007
+he has a good relationship with Francis Batta

but
- he also could tay or return in/to Aprilia
- he said in a lot of times respects Aprilia and stay loyal to them
- he was angry to Ducatit when they choose Haga to a factory rider
- his wife and their bambinos
- his age
- he doesn't need extra money
- he was raced in te top leven in 2 decades but he still in one peace
- he retired as a world champion

He'll shine wherever he ends up in WSBK, the dude is good.

He'll be lucky if he manages to get a good ride in WSS.
Very lucky......

Good to see Cardenas with Yosh Suzuki this year

I knew he'd never make it to a World series.
The level of rider in AMA is probably lower than its ever been before and no WSB or WSS team would ever have hired him unless he brought a bag of cash.....

The talent is still there, but I think the problem is that there isn't the rider progression that you used to see in the pre-DMG/pre-economic crisis days. A rider could align with a factory and grow (Haydens, Kurtis Roberts, ad infinitum). Now you have a glut of talented riders in AMA Supersport who have very few options once they leave that class and go looking around for a DSB/ASB ride.

IMO Martin Cardenas should have been a factory AMA Superbike in 2011. But he has bounced up and down between DSB/Superbike because of money.

Well that's ruined a decent paintjob. The orange and red were toned down by the navy/black. Without it the bikes look like something a kid would draw with crayons.

Why should it be anywhere? It doesn't exist anymore, not the way it was before, it will probably end as part of BBVA or Santander groups.

I like it, the Honda stands out more, both the name and the wing, always been a fan of the Repsol liveries but this is quite a nice change.

Not as good as the Rothmans or Castrol liveries Honda have run though in the past in various series!
