2 races to go and F1 is back in the United States!

And 20 minutes before FP1.

Who won the coin flip to be first on track today. Excited since we should see plenty of action with an extra set of tires.

Will they use a little bit of the extra hards in both practices or just burn them in one?

I hope each team does it their own way so we have that little bit of more driving in both of Fridays free practices!

Howdy Gang
Sure wish I was trackside but all is NOT lost for ol' Jp.
I am working on a PBS Great Performances special at Lincoln Center this weekend. Also been given a side room with internet to watch the sessions today.

I know its a new circuit and FP has barely started but bringing the hard and mediums is already looking like a mistake, stone cold and smooth surface. I fear more tyre problems at the US GP

I don't even really understand how it makes things safer
the alarm will go off so often people probably won't respect it anyway

Was that Button with a flag of the US of A painted on the helmet to cover his bald spot?

Tyres aren't scrubbing in at all if the McLaren onboard was any indication.

Pit entry is interesting. Vettel almost lost it on entry.

Its at every circuit. Its just a little bit OTT here. Brazil's is pretty loud too from memory.

All pit entries have such a sound but normally it's just one tone and not as loud.

Koba just lost the rear in a high speed right in 1st/2nd sector, looks super slippy. Got a lot of rubbering in obviously or maybe the yanks made the surface super smooth to make sure the tyres don't tear themselves apart like last time ;)

Pit lap sirens have been around since the 90s as far as I know, I'm not sure what the issue is.
