Wow

Although I do think the driver name should be displayed larger on the windscreen visor. At least 3/4s the width of the 'screen.

I really hope that's a full-time livery but I remember they ran that at the All Star race last year.

Clean and simple paint job by present standards.

Wasn't there some flap with Sonoco several years ago that resulted in Shell having to downsize their logos? They look especially minimized with this scheme.

The Sunoco deal means other fuel companies can't be in, but their lubricant divisions can be. So it's Pennzoil and technically Shell lubricants. Which is why we also see Mobil 1 but not Mobil, Quaker State, etc.

Speaking of the 2013 cars, Chevy will debut its car at 9:30 am on Thursday, it will be streamed live on NASCAR.com.

Also, it looks like NASCAR is looking into the Trucks joining their NW and Sprint counterparts in body updates:

NASCAR working to change look for trucks by 2014: NCWTS series director Wayne Auton said on Tuesday's edition of SIRIUS/NASCAR Radio's "The Morning Drive" the sanctioning body was working with current truck manufacturers to possibly incorporate an updated look to the trucks in time for 2014. The move would follow similar updates in both the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series to give NASCAR vehicles more identity for fans to have better brand recognition with each manufacturer.(CBS Sports.com)(11-27-2012)

Never really had a problem with the look of the Trucks to be honest.

I think it's a good move, look to that #22 beauty ...I can clearly see that is a Ford Fusion!!

If they can do the same to the trucks it will be nice. In 2012 championship the only one that I could see from a distance was the dodge. Toyota, Chevy and Ford were almost the same for me.

I dug that livery when Gil de Ferran ran it in CART...

I can't find it anywhere, but during the Homestead race I'm sure I read Bob Pockrass tweeting that a team could technically use the Ram trucks next year in NCWTS.
Anyone heard anything along those lines?

Never thought about it, but since Penske/Dodge punched out some 2013 sheetmetal, was it hung on a 2013 spec chassis? The engine specs haven't changed and Penske no doubt has a room full of fresh mills for both NASCAR and N/W
Could be a shot for a privateer in some one off races, like Daytona and the Road Courses.
Does a Team have to be factory to supported for the France family mafia to let them in the show?

Well I got the answer. Does Pockrass ever sleep?

I just tweeted him "Technically speaking, can a team run RAM/Challenger in NCWTS/NNS next year?

His response- "Yes. #NASCAR has given those bodies the OK"

So maybe, just maybe, we'll see the Challenger again. This would be awesome.

I wonder if drivers will be allowed to use nicknames like Stewart would or twitter account names like Keselowski?

Jesus, those are better than the official renderings you see on Jayski and etc.

If it's not too difficult to do, could you try moving and sizing the number to fit behind the rear wheel, and the same for the sponsor decal but between the wheels? It's my pet-idea but I don't know if it'd work in practice.

It's a sideways step in terms of the series ladder, but it's good move in that he is now associated with a team that have rides in Trucks and NW.

I agree. Dylan's main problem is that he's too young to drive in NNS, but he confirmed his hopes to debut in NCWTS thanks to the new age limits :-)

It is a brand new rule: 16 for NCWTS, 18 for the other series (as was before) :)

I think it's only 16 if the oval is 1.1 miles or less, and on road courses, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Agreed, nice pics Sterla. That's the best angle for asthetics the new car has looked IMO. Thankfully a long way removed from that absurd splitter and disproportionate rear trunk.

The 1980 Pennzoil Chapparal that dominated Indy racing with Rutherford was among my first favorite race cars, liked the rear wing along with the scheme.

ARCA is going to Road America. June, so I assume with Nationbusch?

I totally want to run that race, anyone got any sponsorship ideas?

Hmph, still only 22 races, I thought they were trying to get back to 24-25 races?

And I don't understand why NASCAR always puts this long ass break after Daytona for the Trucks. The 2nd race is six ****in' weeks after Daytona!

You're right :-)

I like the rule, even if it was put in place to fill the grids a little bit. There are lots of young talents coming up the NASCAR stair

What exactly is the price for a race in ARCA? (I know it's not a defined amount, but an estimate?)

I think it's anywhere from 1mil to 2mil depending on how fancy your team is. There will be lots of guys running their own teams on a small budget. 20-21 race season so let's say 75k average a race maybe? Including testing, insurance, other stuff?

and a road course, there's a Road Course named after Canadian Tire in Ontario? That's where they're going. PK FTW. I called it first. Screencap it, save it, it's OLB's Stone Cold Padlock LOCK PICK OF THE YEAR

So will 99% of people, although it might be a stretch to say it was in support of you receiving your cheque.

So what do we think of the Chevy SS? The unveiling was about an hour ago.

Not a fan of the back at all. Although looks great side-on.

And we're getting carbon fiber hoods and decklids apparently. Little black shards strewn over the track. Not good for tires, good for mystery cautions that are harder to argue with.
