Schumacher's Formula 1 career came to an end today, and this is how he did it:

- He finished 7th
- in car nr. 7
- scoring a total of 49 (7x7) points
- with 49% (7x7) of these points scored from his 4 7th places
- 7 (all but 1) of his point finishes were non-podiums finishes
- got 7 DNFs this season
- has 7 WDCs

He started 7th on the grid in his first F1 race....

And didn't he have 7 teammates? Lehto, Verstappen, Herbert, Irvine, Barrichello, Massa, Rosberg - or did I miss someone?

Does my prediction of Schumi's pole at Interlagos with a lap time 77.777 count?

And also, just accidentally, there appears almost 7777 days between his first F1 drive with Jordan back in August 1991 and today's last race at Interlagos.

Due to mechanical troubles and other mishaps outside his fault, Michael Schumacher could have scored about 77 points more this season!

Michael knew what he was doing today. Whilst Alonso and Vettel were off trying to do the easy thing and win the title, Schumi in his last race set about fulfilling his life's work... the factor of 7 season.

And he succeeded... that's Schumi all over. Couldn't have done with Brawn as usual, though in this case it was making a car that was average enough to score big in 7's.

Well done Schumi and Ross!

7770 days since his first F1 test at Silverstone in 1991.

Yes, but it's just today - 27 November 2012.

On 25 November, when Michael finished his last F1 race it was 7768 days from his very first F1 test with Jordan, which was on Tuesday, 20 August 1991. Equally it was 7769 since Michael signed a pre-contract agreement with Jordan, which was on Monday, 19 August 1991.

But that's exactly 7777 days between the last GP of pre-Schumacher F1 era (which was Hungarian GP, held on 11 August 1991) and Michael's last F1 race at Interlagos (25 November 2012). That's quite obvoius as both races as usual held on Sunday, so we can do a control check by dividing into seven, and 7777/7 = 1111 weeks.

And, finally, if Michael will be present at FIA Gala on 7 December 2012 - it will be the same 7777 days since his first official F1 session which was Friday practice at Spa on 23 August 1991.

So let's Seven-Up Mild Seven for the Seven-time F1 World Champion on the seventh December to mark his seven thousandth seven hundred and seventy-seventh day with FIA F1 World Championship... :D

Won 17 of the 30 wet races he contested.

We have truly different wet race calculations then - because I count him 16 of 46.

1991 Spain, Australia
1992 Spain, France, Belgium
1993 Brazil, Europe, San Marino, Japan
1994 Japan
1995 San Marino, Belgium, Europe, Japan
1996 Brazil, Monaco, Spain
1997 Monaco, France, Belgium
1998 Britain, Belgium
1999 France
2000 Europe, Canada, Belgium, USA
2001 Malaysia, Brazil
2002 Britain
2003 Australia, Brazil, USA
2004 Italy, Brazil
2005 Belgium
2006 Hungary, China
2010 Australia, China, Belgium
2011 Canada, Britain, Hungary
2012 Malaysia, Brazil

One to add to number sevens, result of Michael Schumacher winning and one of his main rivals Mika Häkkinen finishing second happened 7 times (1x1995, 2x1998, 4x2000)
