Nothing wrong with that. :)

Personally I need to watch a little F1 every day, winter or summer. :)

Well, I usually have this sort of cycle with Le Mans

Have a heart attack while waiting for the entry list announcement in early Feb (or late Jan)
Prepare extensively for the race in spring and early summer by literally obtaining any news/rumour/material and by re-re-re-watching old stuff and documents day by day
Obviously follow everything live in June
Then watch SPEED's coverage sometime in Fall, for comparison
Then the official Duke/ACO review before Christmas
Finally re-watch the entire Eurosport coverage again in winter, as well RLM stuff

And then you're ready for the next edition and start the cycle all over again  truly, the year centers around June. the rest of the racing is nice but not so important

I find winter the ideal time for reading books and I have a long list waiting to be shortened.

Considering I live in Palm Springs it's not much of a winter. There is one blessing of being a NASCAR fan, it's also a pretty short winter. However, it's also a good time for the wife and I to make some money and see all our international friends in the Rock and Mineral business in Quartzsite Arizona. We'll be out there for six weeks living in a trailer with a big 'ol tent full of rocks , with the Aussies, the Swiss, the Nigerians, the Germans and people from all over the world and the states with industrial scale sales from everything they have mined all year. The poker parties are quite interesting. Anyone traveling through the area, please stop by.
I've also got a new Jeep that needs to be tested and the good 'ol Rhino will undoubtably be soundly thrashed.
So, won't be missing racing too much I don't think.

Edit:
Arrrrgh...
Got an offer on a new project I couldn't refuse after being retired for all of 4 months.
Back to work...
Oh well, at least it's interesting and challenging and not full time.

Single, twins, triplets, quads.....?
"Maintain the gap" between nose and soiled nappy!

Just a solitary baby thank christ - couldn't even imagine what it'd be like with twins or more. Especially as we already have a nearly 3yr old toddler.

Don't worry, I try not to get my nose too close to soiled nappies if I can help it...

Well, for me it is going to be very busy time at work.

New budget has to be in in two weeks time, then the end of financial year accounts and audit.

And on 1st of December I start 90 day extreme fitness regime. I will manage the budgets and audits as usual but I'm not sure how I will manage the bloody gym.

That will happen as soon as someone will discover and bring it in how Vettel lost to Hamilton in tender age of five. It won't take long, as I expect at least one or two respected posters to come on board with it soon. :rotfl:

I know everyone's got their own sporting passions, but for me no ball game of any kind will ever fill in for any motorsport of any kind. The only sport that works for me in the offseason is world cup skiing where we get to see people doing stuff that's insanely dangerous and massively exciting. Can't afford to go skiing this year so it'll be a sort of pleasurable torture... :well:

This.

But with the added bonus of actually going skiing and taking my 3 yr old girl for the first time! Oh, not to forget, getting prepared for more F1 events next year, and going to Abu Dhabi twice before March. :)

Its the way forward, backwards, side-to-side and sometimes magnetizes you to walls and other obstacles. But yes, I agree.

I've been saying this a couple years now, but I miss A1GP.

NFL gets me through these couple months, but Jan-March are tough, bitter times, I tell you what.

Catch up on shows - transfer F1 races to DVD. The DVR of has 4% left and I have to empty it out for 2013 F1 season.
Build some programs
Sleep in after Fri/Sat nite partying as I don't have to be up at (or stay up till) 1 AM and 5 AM to watch races, qually, practice...

Gather strength bourbon, you might need it, for in just 96 days it will be all out war against Seb in effort to deny him four crowns in the row.

My off-season has got worse.

On Monday night our precious doggie Flirt escaped the backyard, and on Tuesday morning we found her - and found that a car had found her first. :(

Since then I managed to recognise that my ankle is NOT healing the way it should be - and now I am waiting for an MRI so that they can see if I really have ruptured the tendon in my foot like they suspect.

Sorry to hear about a dog, just as much about your mishap. Perhaps on bright side, you will find for a few days more time with your notebook and can review 2012 season just as have some thoughts about the one ahead. :)

P.S i'm 25 and love anime since 00, specially serious one's (no pokeshit/digicrap, Death note and GITS rules)

Shitload of work to do at uni 'til the end of January (i.e. almost until the first 2013 cars will be revealed) because of "due tomorrow - do tomorrow"-mentality. Bored and sitting in a lecture as we speak

The off-season doesn't bother me as much as it used to. The hardest part for me is the week or two following the last race, because I realize that it's all over.

December? Pretty busy month with the holidays and such, so it's easy to get by without F1 since many other things need my attention.

January? Gets pretty interesting with the final driver signings and car launch dates being announced so, even without races, there's still lots to talk about.

February, well, the winter testing is more than enough to make the off-season enjoyable.

Ski Alpin !!!

I actually met with Jean-Claude Killy in North America, and my life never was the same since, just as life in high snowy mountains with plentiful deep powder are one of my fondness memories. I and my skiing buddy carried together four specialised ski equipment each on a roof rack for a single skiing weekend which started on Friday at 15:00 and ended Monday at 01:30. We were first on the lift, and also last ones off the lift with one hamburger and some coffee between; those are my memories. :)

I've been filling my Sunday's catching up with the excellent My Brother, My Brother and Me (MBMBaM) podcast. It's a comedy advice show where three brothers (Justin, Travis and Griffin McElroy) are sent questions and they give (occasional) proper answers.

It's not for kids as some of the language is a tad colourful, but I'm frequently laughing myself stupid listening to it... well worth a listen if you get the chance.

In many ways the racing off-season is just barely short enough for the allure of seeing the green to start next year stopping me seeing the red of my brains on the bedroom wall. In other ways, I don't miss it: Racing is such a whore for all your time it's nice to have more free time to catch up on all the rest of the shit you've been ignoring. And God damn, is it nice to sleep in on Sunday mornings again.

Quite frankly, this is the first season, in more than a decade (since I started following F1), that I really am not interested in the Off-season or the Winter Testing. The allure of F1 has suddenly gone (sometime during this season) and I just don't know why it happened. I did not watch either of the two final races of the season which McLaren won. Maybe my thoughts have turned towards NFL (with my beloved 49ers winning again for the past two seasons). I'm spending a lot more of my time on the 49er Fan Forums than I have been doing here.

So, my winter will be passing fine without any thoughts of F1 (blasphemy coming from my mouth even until last year). Hopefully come March I should be looking forward to F1 again.

Oh my oh my how awful would it be if the season went all around the calendar...the winter break is by far the most exciting part of the year, the anticipation, the changes, the speculation and the testing. If they never drew the line and had a break we would never appreciate the fresh new season. I'll just thoroughly enjoy reading the news and enjoying the developments for the new season ahead. Without that the first race would never be so exciting.
