I received a polite reply, a proper headed notepaper letter, from Bob declining my offer. They must have been innundated by this kind of thing but I was so impressed that this 'name', even then, had bothered to reply that I proudly hung on to the letter for many years.
BTW The only other team who replied were Tyrell & that letter was to someone else & wrongly addressed to me. I wonder if there's someone out there who recieved my letter & was offered a job? JYS maybe...

Possibly a tongue in cheek reference to his skill with the 'queerbox' - after all the teething troubles of the Colotti gearbox were well-publicised at the time.it was interesting to read that he was known as Boblotti for his expertise with Colotti gearboxes. Did Team Lotus have a lot of those?
A well deserved award, nevertheless
But, as you say, that doesn't make this anything other than a thoroughly well-deserved award.
