Whose going to Silverstone on the 19th?
Steve,
I will be there in the Chev Camaro, no 55, in Historic Road Sports - I think we can expect 25 to 30 cars on the grid on 19th October ... and a Lotus or Ginetta will win. HRS has been a well-supported series for pre-69 cars this year with 40+ participants at some or all races and over 60 cars registered in total.
Should be a good, archetypal, Club meeting which is the staple diet of HSCC racers - the plums in the pudding this year were Oulton Park Gold Cup, Brands Hatch SuperPrix and the Easter Classic at Thruxton ... I hope the HSCC gets invited to that one again in 2014.
Happy to say Hello to any TNFers attending the meeting,
Nick

According the the HSCC website, scheduled races are:
Historic Road Sports.
70’s Road Sports.
Historic Touring Cars.
Guards Trophy.
Historic Formula Ford.
Classic Racing Cars.
Classic Formula 3.
Derek Bell Trophy.
Historic Formula Junior.
Thank you Alan. Looks like no Historic Sports Car race again this year. Dont think Historic Road Sports are quite what I was hoping for!.. Will probably still go though.

You sometimes get the odd Lister, Lotus XI etc in the Guards race.
Much as I love the HSCC, I do sometimes long for a bit of variety. Even just an allcomers race, or the odd invitation race.

For some reason I can't find the 2012 thread...
It's time to start the process of block-booking camping spaces for our club with the ACO who, as usual, act like they have never run a race meeting before. Every two years we have to re-invent just about everything and still they cannot provide more than eight (reducing to five on day two) working toilets for a couple of thousand fans at Maison Blanche, Karting Nord or any other of their "welcome areas". As for toilet seats...
But hey.....

Here is a good piece of news for GT fans for next year:

I'm not sure why Marcos, Elan and G4 have been extracted from their capacity class though: too fast to race? ;-) Remember that slogan? Looks like the Lotus Seven pendulum has swung the other way.
