Certainly makes more sense to put an extra British driver into the mix for the home race, even though there could have been more interesting choices - but this is good.

Still no Ho-Pin Tung.

Sigh.

He may well be back for Beijing 2015.  Unless NEXTEV finally gets serious about their second car and winning the constructors' title.

??

The amount of talent on the FE grid is ridiculous. As in lots of.

True, I don't doubt the talent at the top of the grid but my gripe is with the has-beens.  Perhaps I didn't explain it well enough before, so that's my fault.  When only 13 drivers out of 20 will contest a full season, it seems disappointing to think that Trulli, Sarrazin, Chandhok and - to and extent - Alguersauri might continue full time in the second season.  It's alright if they make one-off appearances like Sato, but it seems a real waste imo for the entire course of a season.

Hey guys! Sorry I been so busy shooting at Le Man!  Just to let you know, there's a fans forum for theLondon race, the twitter hashtag is #FEfansforum. 4 of the drivers are attending, I'll be there with the Current E team, I'm getting the drivers to sign some images I have printed and they will give away in auction.

More info can be found here!

Glad for Turvey, I've always liked him. Talented driver.

My only concern is how good the second China car is, as Charles Pic seemed to be really uncompetitive after a really good start with Andretti.

Da Costa got a headache to sort out. the headache is the clash with DTM therefore there might be another sub in play here

It was announced a few days ago that Yamamoto would be driving instead of him.

Pity, he is probably my favourite driver in the series. Doing far better in FE this year than DTM as well.

Looking to the future, any word on support series yet? I wonder if we might see a support race for electric saloon cars some time soon.

He would be well-advised to drop that go-nowhere DTM engagement, and to focus on the much greater potential of FE instead.

Exactly!  No need to dilute, and it keeps some flexibility in hand to deal with possible delays and incidents that may affect the day's schedule.

Give Formula E a few years to speed up the cars first. It's a bit difficult to have a support series while the main class is so limited.

Based on what? DTM has manufacturer support and pays the drivers well. Piquet shows you can balance other series (GRC, Indy Lights) with FE, given that the latter has several of its events during the traditional off-season.

Mahindra testing their 2015 car with Bruno Senna in Dunsfold, UK.
M2Electro it's name.
Do i see anti-shock gloves for Bruno?

I expect Mahindra to be a lot better next year, they started working on 2015/2016 months ago.

This also means that Bruno will be confirmed for Season 2.

There used to be, but if you elect a clown as mayor.....

Good that there's a bit more effort being made to promote the race now than there was a few weeks ago, when tickets went on sale. I'm a bit surprised they didn't want to put that paint scheme on the fully-electric buses on route 521, though, rather than on that dirty diesel-hybrid Boris bus. Maybe it's got something to do with the fact the fully battery-powered buses spend less time per day on the road than the diesels?

Thanks for that! Not lived in London for 22 years now-did not know they had electric buses since they scrapped trolleybuses in 1962.

Nice one!

Also some onboard footage (from 3.50) sections of someone (think it's di grassi) testing the track some months ago, looks majesticly narrow  :stoned:

For London inhabitants, a Formula E car is exposed at Boxpark Shoreditch (i have no idea of what this is) till 9 p.m

Trolleybuses would be a much better idea than the battery-powered ones, frankly. There aren't many of the latter in service, because they can't run all day without a re-charge, so they're only used to supplement the service at peak hours. London bus routes frequently have to be diverted, though, so trolleybuses do have their drawbacks. Maybe a trolleybus that could use recovered energy to charge its own onboard battery, thereby allowing it to run on its own power for short distances when needed, could work? Any excess energy recovered from braking or whatever could be fed back to the grid via the overhead power lines.

The number of zero pollution (at the point of use) buses in London is tiny, but that will simply have to change given the localised air quality situation. It will be interesting to see which way they go. There are a few hydrogen buses running and a handful of battery-powered ones. The number of hybrids is greater, but those still chuck out plenty of diesel fumes into an already dangerously over-polluted area.

Maybe motorsport development will produce technologies that can be applied to sorting out this problem.

There is such a rule.  But if you cross TFL's palm with silver, rules can be temporarily overlooked....

I used to go to and from school on a LT trolley bus.  Even in that prehistoric age, they did have batteries so that they could be moved around at the depot.  Haven't we advanced in 50+ years?
