Where´s the ignore option? Has it been removed or have I gone partially blind?

I think you're blind. I can ignore you if I want to?

Instructions, please.

While signed in click the offender's profile, then click options to get the dropdown menu, ignore is the top one.

I find my eyes with the 'don't read' option work quite well :p

Glad you were helped, as this is a very important feature for BB mental hygiene.

Otherwise, would have checked in with a thang from The Insider:

Russell Crowe/Jeffrey Weigand sends Al Pacino/Lowell Bergman a fax which reads:

Can't talk to you

P/B replies:

Can't talk to me?
Won't talk to me?
Don't want to talk to me?

Yeah the option still works and I have 11 posters on mine. Obviously I won't name them as that is silly, but one poster/idiot has been informed via PM that I've added him to the dreaded list yet he still feels the need to respond to me on threads. I know this as curiosity gets the better of me sometimes and I click to open his posts lol. I haven't responded though as its more satisfying knowing he has wasted his own time and won't get the response he is after :p

Well, this admission that you still read his posts have just assured him that he has NOT wasted his time. :drunk: He-he, even in case it's me you're talking of I can now rest assured you'll read this... :)

Come to think of it, I propose that the ignore function does what it says, i.e. posts of ignored users don't show up at all on the ignore list users screen. No "oh can't help it, must look what he wrote, it's safe anyway as I'm pretending to have him on ignore" anymore.

How about that?

I can't do as described here. I have to update ignore list, in my controls.

I used to think like that, but then something occurred to me. Let's say someone posts something you agree with, but then your ignored person posts that he likes fascism. If you don't even know he's posted, you could well add a reply simply saying "I agree", not realising that everyone else will think you've just agreed with fascism.

On the other hand, if you can see a note that the ignored person has posted, it will probably occur to you to be clear about what you're agreeing with.

Reading a stupid post from a member you've put on your ignore list gives you a warm fuzzy feeling of self-congratulation.

Risil

Indeed.

And when it doesn't, it merely prompts one to check again. There have been posters on my IL whom I've eventually taken off it, but there are some who have been there for a loooooong time. :smoking:

Oh, and it's nice that you're a gentleman and have no women on your IL. ;)

The only long-term objectionable people I've seen on internet forums have been men. There have been women (or more likely, girls) posting rubbish but it hasn't been vile or bullying, and the tendency has been for them to leave after a short time.
