Without reading through all the old posts I can't say if this has been mentioned before but I suspect not.

In central southern Sicily, near the town of Agrigento there is a privately built and owned race circuit called Racalmuto. It is around 2 kilometres long and is fairly unusual in that the pit garages have, built above them, a restaurant, lounges and meeting rooms while above that level are hotel rooms that look right over the pit area and start-finish straight. Above the hotel area is an open viewing platform from which virtually the whole circuit can be seen.

As there is no race circuit in Malta Racalmuto is the place where the Maltese go to drive their racing cars if they consider them too fragile to drive up the Maltese hills!
