Sorry if this has been previously discussed...

Here the starting gid of the 1957 Pescara GP as published in "Autosport",the "black book" or the Richard Williams book "The last road race" or findable on the Net.
On this one of course Musso's car should be Ferrari 801.

Here a photo (found on EBay) of the start from line two.

On the photo, line four, Bonnier is on the right and Scarlatti on the left . Not as on the above starting grid.
Any explanation ?

There are some anomalies in the grid times shown above when compared to those shown in the Black Book and The Last Road Race. In particular, the time for Bonnier is given as 10' 37.0" above, and as 10' 36.2" in the other two sources. If the 10' 37.0" time was correct, it would make Bonnier slower than Scarlatti, and this would mean that their positions as seen in the photo were as they should have been.

Autosport,Black Book and "Last Road Race": Bonnier 10'36"2, Scarlatti 10'36"6

The above grid is from "Autosprint". As from Itally, could be taken as correct...

... and yet they still show Bonnier 'ahead' of Scarlatti on the grid, even though the time they have for him is slower.
