Yea..but this time it comes from the guy who represents Robert.

The guy represents some of his commerciall interests in Poland.
That basicly means that if he finds somebody who would like sponsor Robert he calls his manager and gets a cut.

He usually knows as much as he can read in the papers.

Toto Wolff: Wanted to give Robert Kubica chance to drive a #DTM Mercedes. Will analyse if we can integrate him in the team after the test.

On other matters, Wolff confirmed that Mercedes is testing Robert Kubica in a DTM car this week to see how he does, but said that Robert is still not 100 percent fit yet and is unlikely to appear in an F1 car at any point in the near future.

“Let’s see how it goes,” he said. “I think there are some physical constraints for him in a monocoque chassis, we would all love to see him back in an F1 car, but it is definitely too early.”

Is there any website where we can check laptimes from those DTM tests?

Robert Kubica on his upcoming Merc DTM test: "It's still too early to make any statements about my future because of this one test."
"I'm just looking forward to tomorrow and we'll see what happens after that."

"I still believe I can come back," Kubica told F1 Racing magazine.

"It's not just a dream. Right now I have limitations driving single-seaters but they are less than they look from the outside."

"Things are improving," Kubica told the magazine, which is out on Thursday, in his first major interview in two years. "It wasn't like this six months ago and it wasn't like this three months ago.

"And thanks to rallies and tests on the race track, slowly my condition is improving - but there is still a long way to go.

Well, that's excellent news - after all, there's nobody more realistic than Robert, so if he says it's not merely a dream then that's a cause for optimism.

Yea, Kubica has never struck me as a 'dreamer' sort.

Hope his DTM test has gone well. :)

I"ve said from the start that it is only a matter of time. I've never waivered and it would appear I was not alone. Robert too has kept eyes forward! However, what I thought doesn't matter - the reality is what matters and the reality is a very strong, determined, young driver.

It is only a matter of time before he is once again seated in an F1 car. And time is on his side.

Does anyone know if the testing times will be posted live online anywhere? Or if not, where is the best place for info about how the test goes?

I doubt we'll have access to the results/times immediately but I also doubt it would tell us something. I'm sure we'll hear some comments afterwards so to know how much of a racer is Robert right now.

it may be just an angle, but to me it seems that he can keep his elbow closer to the body than he used to on rallies in impreza.

According to rumours "something happened" after Rallye Du Var (another surgery, whatever) that finally worked and massivly improved Robert's health.

And about the picture, there's more space in Impreza than in Megane Trophy so, at least to me, it's another good sign (we knew that Robert tested few rally cars on track before, but I doubt if any race cars with downforce). Just keep fingers crossed and wait for another DTM TV Test Footage (like this: http://www.dtm.tv/Index/Start/EN/1731).

It's really, really good to hear that the hand is getting better, last time I heard him talking about the condition of his hand he said something like 'the shape you see it now, it's very similar to how it was 6 months ago" which didn't sound any good at all.

On a unrelated note: wowzers, an F1-style wheel looks so silly in a big car.

How complex is a DTM steering wheel? Will it give Rob a taster of how well he could handle an F1 wheel??

According to some other whispers, Kubica drove in the afternoon too and was 1sec faster than everybody else (whoever that may be). I know that's most probably rubbish, but hey what a glorious day!

That's incredible! Benson is typically a pretty reliable source, so we can be fairly confident with what he has said - and beating an ex-DTM champion is absolutely monumental.

Sokół repeats this, saying it comes from team's members. But he doesn't specify, whether he was quicker than Paffet in the whole day, looks like so far there is only news from the morning. http://sokolimokiem.tv/?p=5653

Its performances and news like this which will really make people take him seriously when he tries to get back into F1.
Lots of people say it will be hard for him to get a seat with all the drivers competing to get into F1/keep their seats, but Robert keeps showing how much of a natural talent and racer he is. This is his first time in a DTM car right?! BOOM!

... In the wet, in his first ever outing in a high performance DTM car and also first taste of a high downforce car since 2 years, while not being fully fit ...

I approve this,

I don't want to get carried away, but it seems like F1 is becoming more of a realistic possibility. In the past I've said that he would make it, but that was me being very optimistic, but he seems to be making real progress.

Has anyone got a good translation of the Sokół article? Is it saying that Kubica got 0.5s quicker when he got used to the car, or Paffett? Google-translate is ambiguous.

It is no use to pay attention to all miliseconds of time during test, but seeing how fast he can adapt to the car and make fast times instantly is simply great! And look how tight it is inside!

Kubica is the real deal. There is just something about this driver that makes everyone wish for his recovery and F1 comeback.
I am glad I was right when I first watched his brilliant performance as a rookie in Monza.

Time's are irrelevant and impossible to draw any conclusions from, its only a test after all. There's no doubt about it though, this brings a big smile to my face and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, fantastic to see Bob in a proper racing car, the last two years have gone quickly for me but i bet they haven't for Robert, same venue as his last test too!

The fact he had little or no physical difficulties is a big positive, the ERC is perhaps a more likely route but i'd love to see him in the DTM, if only the UK had some decent coverage of it!
