again, that's a fictional design by our fellow forumer DaiMon, see here

however if you're right and Perez picked that up (though I think it is unlikely), then congrats DaiMon :D

(I like the idea of doing these helmet thingies together in one thread, this could be the place to post the monaco/singapore/etc one-offs, Vettel's new helmets every race (brrr... I hope he quits that and sticks with one))

A reminder of the House rules.

You may not post information on this forum that is knowingly false. ‘It’s just an opinion’ as an afterthought, having created an argument, is simply not good enough.

The onus is on you, the member, to check the accuracy of statements, especially when starting new threads.

Not a fan of that helmet above, but they are his colors, although he might do a team color scheme like Alonso did in 07?

Can we expect many other changes from any other drivers? Hamilton and Rosberg will be interesting.

Just confirming this would appear to be OFFICIALLY checo's new lid. It appeared on Santander's McLaren facebook page.

quite possible. :drunk:

which is more possible?
a, DaiMon did a render back in '12 december and predicted the helmet design with 100% precision
b, the so official sounding page called "Lewis & Jenson Santander" posted DaiMon's work

hmm, tough one...

Yeah a render by Daimon.

Might get a look at Alonsos new lid at the Desafio Internacional das Estrelas this weekend.

That must be some serious software to generate that, it looks like an instagram filtered image.

Ugly. Tired of yellow helmets. Something with a lot of matte black is a good choice for a Mclaren driver, like Kimi´s helmet in 2005 and 2006.

Hey guys. I can confirm that this mockup was created by me. :) However, I'm really flattered that a lot of people thought it's real.

Actually it's a computer rendered image, but it's true that I instagrammed it a little bit. You can find more renders on my FB page. If you're interested, just click on the render.

Here nice designs to see in a Mclaren´s cockpit: Agressive designs with a lot of matte black, somber tone, elegant, dark..

Two great paintjobs with colours never seen before in Formula One (the "cream" in Kimi´s helmet and the "concrete" in Kovalainen´s one). No more yellow/orange/green, please.

But dont thinking about taste, Daimon is a very talented guy!

Are there that many yellow helmets in F1? And should we really be abandoning, you know, basic colors for one designer's 'textures' ?

I totally missed and only just found out about Webber's helmet competition last year, worn during FP1/2 at the Singapore GP. I really like the design, more so than his usual one!

God forbid a helmet be recognizable from more than 5ft away :drunk: I wish we'd see a return to simple, bold designs...

Wonder if Perez might go for a Mexican colour scheme like his USGP special last year - would be a nice counterpoint to Button and very 'McLaren'.

Would be nice but Vodafone wouldn't work with that design, maybe if he made the bands of colour horizontal.

Tilt it horizontal and you're fine. Plus the red and white Vodafone bits up-top would clash nicely with the green, giving you a faux Mexican flag part 2.

Both excellent helmets, the Alonso in particular must be one of my favourites from the past decade.

Yeah I hate these slashy, flashy messes of colour that count as helmets these days, I wonder how many drivers helmets you could draw from memory compared to the 90's or before.

Return of the "Halo", bit skinny though, not a fan really.

Prefer the 2010 ones.

Jesus, are those official Ferrari photos? they're horrible, unless they were specifically aiming for dark faces and brightly lit crotches.....

FA hasn't changed his helmet for the first time in years, which is kind of good news, even though his best designs are long gone (2005 especially).

This is his 4th year at Ferrari, he has changed it in each season so far. (2010,2011,2012)

This doesn't look too different from 2012 just with the halo.

The best was his Minardi design, which I'm fairly sure he also used in F3000. Simple and strikingly effective. None of his later designs come close.

I much prefer simple designs with well defined edges and solid blocks of colour. The Hills', Elio de Angelis, Gerhard Berger, Ayrton Senna etc.

I have the feeling that we will see totally different designs later. These are clearly their 2012 helmets with some stickers attached to them. (If you check Fernando's photo, you can see that the halo covers the arrows, which looks a bit weird if you ask me). I guess the real deal isn't ready yet. :)

Sorry, I read that wrong.

I prefer his method of subtle changes over time, so its more of an evolution than a change.

Nice.

It is quite amusing to see a helmet thread without hoarding from Sebastian's creations. Still I think Jens Munser does great helmets. It is his 20th anniversary of doing helmets so great job to him! He has yet to preview any of his drivers' 2013 helmets on his website though.
