I have just purchased a lovely book on Kyalami Circuit 1961 to 1987 by Andre Loubser.
It has hundreds of photographs and good coverage of all the grands prix there, plus the international enduros, some international motorcycle events as well as interviews with the likes of Jackie Stewart, Denny Hulme and others.
I have no financial or any indirect interest in the book but can recommend it highly.
Andre told me he took more than 25 years to comile it!

The +- 50 quid price is more likely.
The book has nearly 400 pages.
Perhaps best to contact Andre at his Art Gallery - andreloubser@telkomsa.net

Its an Ok book, but in my opinion no where near as good as sunset on Kyalami vol 1, mainly because it only covers the international races. In this period of the "old" kyalami, it had a rich heritage of national racing of which none is covered, it also does not give the reasons and politics of the ownership of the track and importantly why it clsoed.

I have also got 'Sunset' - an excellent book too.
I have not finished reading the Loubser book yet but In Pages 32 to 44 Andre tells the story of the 'birth' and 'demise' of Kyalami, changes in ownership, 'politics' etc
The chapters on Francis Tucker, Alex Blignaut and Mike Reid also deal with these issues.

Any book on South African motorsport must be applauded. We are fighting a loosing battle against rugby, cricket and even a dismal soccer XI.
