I was going to say the opposite.

But it reminds me. Why do they do Santander text as white on red everywhere else, but on the driver uniforms have that horrible white rectangle to put the red text in?

Santander, as with any big company, will have strict brand guidelines for teams and advertisers to adhere to.

Personally I like the new jackets. Subtle attempt at the Marlboro logo, and although they aren't allowed to show it, at this stage they don't even need to.

They look like two sandwich-men in Bronx around the sixties. Seriously, Italy is still the driving force in men's fashion, this looks just cheap.

They're sponsored by Puma, not Armani.

The interesting thing is that it would seem that at Ferrari the title sponsor is still Philip Morris, which brings up questions about how important Santander really is for the Scuderia in terms of money.

It is the Kimi fans who have tried to create the myth that Ferrari was broke and desperately needed Santander money.

Ferrari are far from broke, and Santander have a strong relationship with F1 in general, signs at GPs etc and also on McLaren.

Ferrari doesn't need Santander desperately, and Alonso doesn't need Santander to be in the best team.

PS: I am from Santander :p

Oh ok. I guess each duo does their own thing until the kart challenge, where they get united or something? Its cool to see, but weirdly, I cant get behind Ducati that much, even as a huge Ferrari fan.

Look at that big boxy blank white space on the belly that's completely out of place.

Posts deleted, there are threads for photoshopped images and there are threads for discussing tobacco advertising in F1, no need to try hijack this thread.

I agree that it looks hideous but it's a Marlboro logo.

When do we usually get to see the 2013 helmets? The Karting event?

Of all the reasons to say why this is not the new car I'll go with the simplest: Ferrari's 2013 challenger will use the number's 3 and 4 - This F2012 has the number 5. :)

Today was the kart race on the frozen lake. Pole for Massa, first race won by Alonso, second race (reverse grid) also won by Alonso.

Well thats what I mean - the Italian/red machine connection. Like, even though I know Yamaha is actually an Italian operation, I still always think 'Japan' still.

So I guess that's "first blood" to Alonso, then...

"Alonso's hopes of victory appeared over on lap two when he was spun around after a clash with Massa as they fought for the lead.

But Alonso staged a brilliant recovery - helped by a number of incidents ahead, including Massa spinning – and took victory on the last lap from MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso.

In the second heat, which featured a reverse grid, Alonso charged through from the back to hit the front with a decisive move past early leader Nicky Hayden."

Maybe a subtle message to Felipe that "You may have upped your game late last season, but don't be thinking you'll be ahead of me in the 2013 championship."

Dovi tends to do well in the charity motocross events, and it seems like he's not bad in a kart either. Hope he turns his hand to some alternative forms of motor sport once his GP career is done.
