Apparently fox pulled their funding.

It was depressing to see a video of them there a week before... it's like wtf

Overall, I have no complaints about the NBCSN coverage of the races. Basically, they are picking up where Speed left off. I like the little boxes of the race action during commercials on the live broadcast - it is better than nothing and, for DVR folks, it forces us to actually see the commercials. If I remember correctly, every ad was for side by side ATVs. I think I'll go with the Can-Am over the Polaris.

The other difference (when compared to Speed) is that the NBCSN pre-show seems to feature a lot less of Buxton's grid walk and more live shots of the hosts in the studio with the pointy table. It was great to have Varsha back for Malaysia - he's the Vin Scully of F1 in the US.

Needs more grid walks, imo. Even if they're just shots :/

I watched motorsports in the States for a couple of years in the mid 90's & thought how terrible the CART & F1 coverage would have been without Bob Varsha. By far & away the best commentator. He could read a race developing & speak at the same time. Glad to hear he's still around.
There was another good guy who used to report from the pits - was it 'Jerry Somebody'?

Yeah, Buxton does a good job. I enjoy the random "celebrities" he tracks down. The best was when Bernie forced Buxton to interview Bo Derek about 25 years after she was culturally relevant.

He's been doing pit lane reporting for Nascar on FOX this year I believe.

Doesn't really mean anything to me to have a stream of something that is already on TV. What I want is a stream of the untelevised practices like SPEED did and hopefully commentary free.

Its a good step in the right direction, eh? I mean they didn't exactly RULE OUT that they were never going to do it, so I'll hold my breath.

I'm just going to throw this out there.

I understand NBCSports is broadcasting some other stuff... but I don't get why they have to do delayed coverage of quali @ silverstin. I'm sure they could have found a channel to throw it on.

They did stream it online though. But I can completely understand your frustration.

If you had the right cable package that is...

Jp continues his 'cursed/charmed' routine today as he arrived in Montreal (x weeks late for the race but allowing for BOTH TSN2 and RDS live coverage of qualy today)

Remember gang it's on CNBC in the morning!!

Lol, CNBC is like NBC's island of misfit toys. 'Ultimate Factories' on a business news network?

Anyone clear this up... CNBC supposedly has the coverage starting at 7:30 EST (w/'race start at 8:00AM EST.) That's 3 hours from now. But the autosport clock (which I strongly suspect is the correct time) says 4 hours - so the race will start at 9:00AM EST ???

To answer my own question - per F1.com, the Autosport clock is actually incorrect...race starts in little under 3 hours from now, not 4.

Are NBC Sports really that incompetent?

The Tour De France coverage ran over into the British GP slot and they have a news segment and give away the results of the race they are just about to show.

Yeah, completely stupid move from NBC here. Spoiled the race for me, unfortunately. They've been fantastic so far, though, considering it's their first year, so I can forgive them a slip or two like this. Don't screw it up again, guys.

NBCSports did a pretty bad job today. They missed the pass of lewis on Button. They also missed the 1st Lewis pass on Webber. Never replayed either!
