It looks like Force India has a very similar bottom part to the nose, but theirs obviously features the vanity panel on top.

The other noses do look fairly similar to each other apart from Lotus and Red Bull.

Caterham would look nearly exactly the same as a few others if they had the panel.

The Lotus nose looks like it would be the best ice-cream scoop of the lot...

I have an impression that in case lotus the nose is more than just "a nose" to a bigger extent than in case of other teams.

In AMuS, they published yesterday an article comparing the noses of the different cars. The first picture of the gallery (here: click me ) is a composition with all the 2013 noses (except Marussia's). Lotus' nose is probably the most different of all.

Talk about platypus noses, Mercedes and Red Bull, real beauties only mother could love.

filming day(s) at paul ricard, seems like they used the reveal mockup car, with the weird sidepod winglets.

I have to say that, apart from the the nose, the lotus looks exactly like the RB9.

He has a head, torso, arms and legs, so uh... Yeah. I'd say pretty much identical.

The sponsorship situation seems like a nightmare. They lose sponsors left and right. Then the few new ones they get seem to either fall through or turn out to be much smaller deals than hoped. Look at how tiny the Burn sponsorship evidently is. What is with the management and financial side of this team that they can't get a sponsor to save their lives? You would think they've never won a race in their history driving around with a blank car like it is now. It seems they need to get some people in the team who know how to work with customers/sponsors.

they have the money themselves, Lopez and Eric Lux. If they can't find sponsors they have to use their own money or sell the team.
I think AMUS reported that the Honeywell was never a real possibility because the guys there were talking to were fraudsters or something like that.
Lopez seems to be a really good player in the investment game, very strange that he can't aquire sponsors for a very successful and hyped F1 Team (think Raikkonen).

Sidepods and exhaust. Didn't see it from this angle, or it is new. But I think it is the angle.

Hoping it's not another DRD failure...the car looks quite unspectacular compared to the others.

I can understand your fears, but if you remember it also looked unspectacular last year, still it was very fast. It could be the same this year again.

Yep, these are also my thoughts. They won't have lost their very good base, their internal drag advantage, and there's hopefully still a lot more to come.

Interesting! Maybe they try an integrated intake for the DRD in the airbox? Would be clever (as I always wondered if a smaller solution à la Mercedes behind the airbox wouldn't be better), but probably less effective and cooling would be a big concern - or perhaps that's why Lotus opted for bigger sidepods...

(Just speculating a bit for fun here ;) )

You can easily see that these airbox intakes are quite different in both pictures.

I would hazard a guess that they don't really want to run those two additional side inlets, so they're testing splitting the main one instead.

Alan Permane said that Kimi was happy with the car straight away and the changes they made to the car were positive but they had some problems to collect data from Kimi's runs and they couldnt make longer runs because of those electronic problems.

That inlet isn't used for cooling normally, just to feed the engine air.

Well it's good to hear that Kimi is positive about the car, disappointing there was some bad luck which limited the mileage. Really hope they rack up some miles tomorrow, around 100 laps would satisfy me :)

Hokay..the argument with the sidepods is still valid, but what do we know.

Every time I look at the airbox intake it seems like it's being drawn by a comic artist and it's oscillating.

That guy asked a very similar question @ Lotus 2013 Launch, he got a response. What's with his repeat questions, quite idiotic.

Same guy asked "Hamilton" to Kimi @ Lotus launch as well.

I have to say that I am really concerned about Lotus testing performance(I dont mean the speed), they seem to have way to many issues, there is always something what is taking valuable test time away, anyhow I hope they can sort all the problems out soon, as they are one of the teams with the least laps in testing, if not the one with the least.
What was also quite interesting to see was the fact that they where mostly doing short runs, there where only a few runs with more than 5 or 6 laps.

they only did short runs because of telemetry issue (same issue was already bothering them at jerez).this day is quite much lost but hopefully afternoon will give Kimi some laps.

Or expressing it using the guy's own words:

The car itself is running well - we just have to get that stupid data logging system fixed.
