well I still beleive that 1st test car will be a bit different. Also hardly to find something new if regulations are almost unchanged

Shall we launch a 'radical and innovative' swearbox before the car is released? :)

Almost strike 1!

Fransesc et al :-
Ah yes, I remember seeing similar things on the RB8. But these E21 versions look a little more substantial. Like a halfway house between RB8 and late season MP4-27.

Also, part of me wonders if it isnt just an E20 with some plastic on it to model the exhausts and pod-wings, thus the step-nose. This however is a truly rubbish theory.

Wow, some silly excuse there. Why mclaren use that official chart as their official pit stop time then?? Mistake is mistake, Paul Seab got it wrong.

Safety is not an excuse for slow pit stop. Thats the same challenge every team face. You nvr watch ferrari and rbr made these mistakes and their pit stop were consistenly top notch.

I don't know why McLaren uses wrong times. It's question for team.

This stop wasn't slow. It was normal time for driver who can't gain anything but can lost everything on stupid mistake for example with nut like McLaren, Merceses and other drivers many time last years. This discussion is futile. To be honest time stops and anything else in team was better than drivers. They should improve first.

What happened with...

Group director of worldwide sports and entertainment marketing at Coca-Cola, Emmanuel Seuge said that burn intends to "break the conventions of traditional Formula 1 sponsorship"

So a small logo in the front wing is the way to do it?

Guess the passive DRS is a goner after kimi wasted 3 Fps to test it out.....

well, why they would put it on, during presentation? ;] if it will appear, it will be during a test.

i think they won the award for fastest pit stop with that time. Claiming it as mistake is foolish man.

I have no idea what you mean on the driver part?? So it was lewis fault that earlier in the season mclaren 's pit stop was slow??

i don't think so. The concept is rubbish. It disrupt the airflow under the rear beam wing.

Maybe they'll have digitized flames following the cars that only the FOM cameras can pick up..?

Oh dear I hope that's not true.

Question, why would teams choose to run a modesty panel over the nose when this will increase the CoG?

EDIT:I
It would have to bring a large enough aero benefit to offset the disadvantage, will this be the case for some teams?

A carbon fibre one would weigh essentially nothing. I think I read somewhere that they were in fact plastic bits designed to fly off at the first instance of contact, so potentially even lighter. It would be interesting the see the advantages of running a step in aero terms compared to a modesty panel.

This is provisional. Until they sign the contract with:

Honeywell was linked with Lotus. No presence on E21. Red sidepod + airbox indicates they're waiting. #f1

There are some tiny differences with the E20 (like that wing connecting the vertical deflector to the little vertical vane place on the sidepod) but still, it's difficult to tell... (the RB8 style exhausts could be fake)
Need a closer HD look at the airbox sides for example to tell if this chassis is new or just an E20 chassis...

As previously stated: They are not gone for this season. However the teams have the choice to cover it up.

If thats 30 mins from now, then yes.
Edit : Removed correction on step noses, about 6 people in before me. We like knowing the rules around these parts, dont we!? :rotfl:

Edit: As of latest edit, stream is up on Youtube. Nothing broadcast until 19:15 though, but might be worth jumping in early to avoid usual online-f1 launch crashes and server jams.

We're not going to see the real thing until the test track I suspect, if last year's "launch" is anything to go by.

The enstone team have a history of launching cars which aren't actually that years car, rather last years with some tweaks and a new paint job.

I think the 2012 Lotus didn't look any worse than the 2011 Renault. It's not the worst of the stepped noses.

Edit: Gah. not the sky sports guy. Last year they had Buxton and the guy from fifth gear, much better.
