Kimi is about 1.2 seconds slower then yesterday, and it seemed like Grosjean was struggling a bit. I hope they aren't going backwards again. Perhaps they will be better in the hotter temperatures later in the day.

Grosjean is struggling a lot.
It's not normal.

Don't think temperatures will help this time as it was already hotter now than it was yesterday in FP2. I simply hope they were just running heavier either we have lot of things to do.

I hope so to. They also didn't much pace on medium tyres. Kimi's times dropped off quickly.

Last year they ended Spain FP3 P9 and P24 and Bahrein P7 and P9... they often do long runs in FP3 like today...
At least we top the speed trap sectors

Maybe the car is difficult to drive but I don't think it's slower than the Mclarens, the STR, the FI, The Sauber and the Williams in Sector 2
5 6 Sergio Perez 28.968
6 5 Jenson Button 28.973
7 2 Mark Webber 28.994
8 18 Jean-Eric Vergne 29.060
9 15 Adrian Sutil 29.104
10 17 Valtteri Bottas 29.164
11 11 Nico Hulkenberg 29.204
12 16 Pastor Maldonado 29.210
13 7 Kimi Räikkönen 29.330

KR has 2nd best S1 and 5th best S3

yes those middle sector times are odd from both Lotuses, it would point to the direction we were running heavier.

But KR has 2nd best S1 and 5th best S3 so I don't think he was that heavy. He made a mistake in S2.

Yes, during his fastest lap, he had a wobble on one of the medium speed corners in sector 2. I thought he may be within 0.1 s within Massa's time instead of the 0.4 it ended up.

It is not just the fast lap, they were also slow in S2 & S3 on the medium tyres. It seems like they went for less downforce, and they might be slower in the twisty sections.

What happened in the fast lap was different.

Any comments from team/drivers? They can't be going backwards at this rate, surely.

Haven't heard anything Jovanotti, as for going backwards, i think its anyones guess, i'd like to know what was behind the suspension change, and whether they've judged it to be successful, we'll know more within the hour.

Come on Kimi  4th would be nice!

Brundle reckons Kimi's got more support in China than any other driver, lets hope all their prayers are answered

Insane amount of Finnish flags in the stands. This is surely Raikkonen Country. I hope Lotus did some effective marketing to tap into this.

Why does Sutil think Kimi blocked him? Kimi was on his own fast lap. Was he assuming that Kimi would do just one lap and coast back to pits? Kimi stayed there for multiple laps until the trying to set lap times.

Hold your horses. I just want Kimi to start behind Ferraris and Merc. It is Lotus, they never will have fast one lap pace ;p

Kimi is still slower than his FP2 time, have a feeling he won't beat it. What's with Grosjean?

Ferrari's and Vettel probably on scrubbed softs, so I think we should be happy with p5/6/7 in Q3.

Unbelieveable, with a faster Mercedes and Ferrari, he still managed to beat them. Don't know where he got this from, but what an outstanding job by the Iceman!!

God I hope the stewards don't spoil this front row. Even if Sutil was impeded (didn't see it), he still made Q2.

Superb first sector from Kimi

2nd on the grid, let's hope he won't lose a position to Alonso at the start. Luckily there is no clean and dirty side since the cars drive in the middle of the track at that point.

Wow man I expected 5-6 grid position. Kimi could win from 7th... just saying not to jinx.

Totally spot on. Brilliant job.

I just can't see Grosjean to beat Kimi this year if all is fine for both.
