Petter Solberg aims for rallycross & X-Games

Norwegian media reports today that Petter Solberg is building a Citroën DS3 that he plans to use in the fight for the European rallycross title. X-Games is also on his to do list. The article says that nobody has ever been a WRC world champion and rallycross champion at the same time. The Norwegian supposedly had many offers from different teams, but Solberg wants to go back to his roots.
"This is where it's most hard core and I can be myself the most."

Solberg is joining the IMG run series, and also looks at Global World Rallycross where four X-Games races are part of the schedule.
"No matter what, rallycross is an awesome action sport with real fighting and nice cars. It's an arena sport that is good for the audience and offers a real show".

It's funny how whenever a WRC driver races at rallycross they always beat Travis Pastrana, who thinks of himself as a great car driver when in reality he's good for freestyle motoX and motoX mostly...Would be interesting to see how he does in a WRC event.

Slightly worse than block you'd imagine...

He's doing nationwide this year though. Or was it trucks?

Oh how rallying has fallen, when a former World Champion only lasts two posts in his own thread before it changes to NASCAR!

Solberg will do well. I look forward to seeing him battling against 3 time champion Sverre isachsen who is now driving for Subaru Puma team in Global rallycross series.

The DS3 is a good car too.

Pastrana did some wrc, well pwrc and was slow.
Very slow.....

I'm pretty sure his navigator described his as a crash waiting to happen at all times!
