And very pleasant fellow to speak with too, after I bailed him in the Hampton Downs pit area on day one of the Denny Hulme.
Thank you for your courtesy Michael, I know you had other matters on your mind right then.

The chap bottom right of the pic talking to Wally is transmission guru Mike Endean.

Michael Clark was hosting Eoin Young who was unable to attend the luncheon having been taken ill overnight, and Michael's wife Sandie was with Eoin at hospital at that point. Eoin was subsequently admitted pending an operation, and I have not been updated since.

UPDATE...Just now from Michael Clark.... "HE AIN'T FLASH...

I took him home last Thursday and then raced at Ruapuna last weekend. Poor old bugger is fading just now - will he bounce back (again) - we'll see

Keep you posted "

That name rings a bell. Formula Atlantic Lyncar 1971/1972(?) with John Nicholson in the other car - there were two cars I am certain. I think that makes sense - long, long ago.

UK Atlantic in 1971 and 1972 was terrific - big fields, lots of different chassis. The Lyncar was quite distinctive I remember.

All down to Sid .
I am still laughing about his opening at the BRDC Lunch when he introduced
himself by saying " My name is b'Jesus " !

Hope all went well at Nuthurst and Tim Parnell did his bit in recalling Sid's trip to NZ.

Thanks Giraffe, Layabout, and Howden/Gary K, for me it's especially nice to see Steve Horne and Tony Southgate looking well. Their work here and abroad is much appreciated.

Horne took a karter I knew and made an Indy Car driver out of him, and Tony needs no intro. :) (neither does Howden, of course)
