Have come across these twice at swap meets and bought them.
They are identical in every way to a Smiths tacho and use a Smiths case and internals, but with this different face.
Have Googled them but nothing there, does anyone know anything about how the face came about?
Maybe it is an Australian product by local Smiths distributor ?

Flip them an email and ask if they recognise the dial?

Ed, I have a similar chronometric tacho. that has "Smith Sons & Rees, Sydney" printed on the dial. If you want, I can bring it to the GEAR meeting [6th March], for you to 'check out'.

Greg, did you ever have anything to do with the instrument repair bloke at Villawood/Fairfield?
I'm sure he would have repaired those things.
And have you as yet convinced your Deepwater mate to join us here?

Many years ago, Dennis Quinlan [if that's who you mean] 'did up' a Smiths chronometric tacho. for my Jolus FJ......I seem to remember having trouble for a while, coping with an arm & leg missing.

John Watt, Greg...
Don't you know he's at Deepwater? Plays with VWs. I thought he was a friend of yours.
