As the programme was quite a large one I'll happily correspond out of forum if necessary.
I have the main results from Autosport.
Thanks

I suggest contacting the 750MC itself.
It's here!
Although Holly Birkett died the year before, I'm pretty sure that his name wasn't given to the race until rather later.

I have tried the 750MC by email in the past on history and have yet to find an archivist there, or indeed get a reply.
Still hoping.

I believe BRDC did collect some archive material as I was asked for some Eight Clubs programmes by the man who was collating the stuff at the time. Even if that's right, I doubt the records are as complete as one would like, as it was being done retrospectively so would depend on what could be found.Does Silverstone, or the BRDC, keep records and results of all meetings held at the circuit, or has it been up to organising clubs, the specialist press and individual enthusiasts?

Thanks Allan. I'm very naive. When I was a youngster I used to scrounge practice timesheets, results sheets etc from race control or the press shelves. I always assumed that someone in the office would keep at least one set. Perhaps they did, only to throw them away a few years later in a (painful to us) office clear out.
Although as an eight year old I did see a Birkett 6 Hours, in 1965 (I'm sure it did have Birkett in the title that year by the way), I wasn't collecting sheets then. In 1964 would they have issued hourly updates do you think, like Le Mans? Or am I being fanciful? I just wondered whether someone, somewhere has a set sitting in a box, waiting to be made available to Jake!

That means that most people only saw the Timekeepers' hand-written original and then only when it was pinned to the Race Control notice board.
Photocopiers helped and computerised timekeeping helped even more, and when I was last involved the (by then) half-hour bulletins were printed and circulated to the teams.

For as long as I can remember at the six-hour we had hourly bulletins over the tannoy, but of course in the days we are writing about duplicated results had to be typed-up on a Roneo/Gestetner skin (or ORMIG/Banda thingy) first and usually that was a job for when the Sec.o.t.Meeting got home.

Thanks Allan. Yes, photocopiers must have made a big difference! I think my earliest items (teenage collectors must have been the bane of the organisers....) were Roneo'd, foolscap of course, none of this modern A4 nonsense!
