In the article in that Cavallino issue they do mention the speed records as well, and there I also found the only picture I have been able to find of that particular car at that point in time!
I am looking for more information on the records, the car (was it specially prepared for the records?) and I would really like to find some more pictures. Unfortunately neither books on the Ferrari 166 nor on Montlhery that I have or have been able to check out show anything more than what I already have, which is not a lot.
There is also some mention of records on 100 Miles (126.3 mph/ 203/26 km/h), 200 km (126.2 mph / 203.099 km/h) and 1 hour (125.9 mph / 202.616 km/h ) for 1948 with the 166 SC with chassis number 016i!
Two very different cars, and the only picture shows an MM, NOT an SC (unless you take into account the introduction of the 166 Touring which at the 1949 Salone de Torino was called Spider da Corsa according to some info)?!
Any and all help would be very much appreciated!
