Does anyone know anything about David Van Horn who regularly won his class in West Country hill climbs such as Trengwainton, Oddicombe, Wiscombe Park and Hemerdon Mill in the 1962-5 period? He had a rather fierce LawrenceTune Morgan Plus 4. He doesn't seem to move far from his base and I have a suggestion he was a market gardener in Devon. Anyone know anything about him?
Sincere Thanks
Jake

Geoff's link seems to fit with this report that he owned a garage in Cornwall:

Lizard man Bobby Roberts has retired after working at Mullion Garages Ltd for more than 47 years as a mechanic. Mr Roberts, aged 65, of Parc-an-Ithan, started work at 15 and continued with only a two-year break when he was called up for National Service with REME in Germany. As a teenager, he cycled the 10 miles there and back for six years until he got a motorbike. Mr Roberts, who was apprenticed for five years, worked at the garage for 47 years and nine months, firstly for Cliff Rowden and then for David Van Horn , who took over the business in 1972. Mr Roberts plans to spend his retirement fishing on his boat Sandalli and gardening. He is married to Christine has two daughters, Sandra and Alison. A presentation will be made to him by Mr Van Horn at a meal with his work colleagues in a few weeks' time.

There are also two Van Horns (although not a DT Van Horn) in the phone book with addresses in Mullion. Someone with a 192.com sub should be able to find David's address as he seems to be on the public electoral roll. He's also on Duedil:

That could be him! Well done and thanks. I've emailed the Rotary Club.
